Looks very angular. ;)

The Williams has an extremely tiny gearbox, ala '11:

That stabilizer's profiled quite strangely, there's something interesting going on back their on the floor. Looking forward to better shots of its ass from testing.

The sidepods have a nice shape to them though, just on an aesthetic level. The nose and pylons are Ferrari-like, but with their modesty panel it really paints a blunt corner, at least Ferrari smoothed that out with the livery curve that they did.

I wonder if this'll be William's return to become one of the big five teams again in results this year.

Here's a comparison to the Ferrari btw, to get a gauge on how much smaller their gearbox is:

It looks like someone has taken a chunk out of the rear bodywork and the nose; there's a gap between the exhaust and the rear wing big enough to drive a bus through, whilst the nose stops short as the front wing extends forward. I like it.

That blunt nose works for me which adds to it's 'chunky' look. One of the better looking profiles IMO.

Tripping out over the anorexic rear of this girl!

WOW, wtf. Going to really stand out.

How many times have you advised others to use the search tool? And besides I can't see how you had a tough time finding it, when it was on the front page of the Motorsport sub-forum, the whole time. So what's your excuse? (Got to be the thread starter, huh?) Yet again, your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Moving on to the topic in question, I hope this years Williams is a consistent front-runner. In my eyes, it certainly looks the part. 👍

The car stands between love and hate for the appearance. Imo.
Just hope the car do well for this season.

Unfortunately I don't see Williams being up there for a while. I believe they will eventually get back to their old pace but not yet.

2004 killed them in terms of pace IMO.

How so? If the technical regulations had remained stable since 2004, that would be an understandable theory. As we've seen with Caterham, Marussia, and HRT, when you start on the back foot in modern F1, it is extremely difficult to progress.

Admittedly, it's not quite as difficult for Williams, being a well established team and all. However the technical regulations have been altered many times since 2004, and until last season, Williams had not managed to use such changes to their advantage.

So while I agree that 2004 is the season they began to full behind, I don't feel it was their troubles of that year, that held them back for so long.

Next year I see them having a chance but not this year.
The problem was when BMW parted company with them they started to fall behind and I can imagine as they got slower sponsors were willing to pay less so they had a smaller car budget.

I love how the car's so exposed around the rear (only just noticed it today reading this thread). Shame about the exhaust thing for them and Caterham.

Despite Coughlan's comments, I can't say I believe they weren't expecting this. Seeing as exhaust air flow manipulation is such a delicate area in modern F1, I'm sure they must have known that it was always a possibility for it to get outlawed, at the cars first test. I'd not be at all surprised to here that they have a legal exhaust waiting back at the factory.

I reckon if the top teams did this exhaust thing it would be ok, I think its good the 'smaller' teams have tried something
