Seven years? The sport and cars have changed since then. This isn't like Jenson or Kimi stepping down and coming back in a year or two. Or Pedro de la Rosa stepping in at Ferrari. We'll see, more power to him, if he has to get in the seat at some stage.

Kubica did a lot trough this 7 years to make his comeback to F1. It was motorsports all the time for him, he showed unbreakable power of will and strong character despite serious accident. I keep my fingers crossed for him. He deserves to have his more than 5 minutes in F1.
