I want to know how do all you people out there think of the new winamp 3 and

- All i want here it to talk about winamp 3

- And about skins

-And good online Radio

I like it. However its been giving me problems if I try to play visualizations. If I could figure out how to solve that problem I'd like it even more. I pretty much just stick to the default skin that came with it because it seems to be the most functional. Online radio is pretty much useless to me because of the constant buffering it would have to do(I'm on 56k.).

I dislike WA3 because it never worked properly on the machine I installed it on. It hogged too many resources. Plus, the skins aren't as good as WA2.x, and that's mostly because of numbers, as well as the fact that all WA3 skins are coded in XML, which I'm not use to editing(I only edit codes in their native format with programs like Notepad.exe, so things like C, C++, etc are out of my league.)

I don't like Winamp 3 much. The new Advanced Visualiztion Studio (AVS) sucks - it has the worst presets and it is set to change presets every now and then. With Winamp 2.8's AVS, you could get a good AVS preset and keep it going for your whole playlist. In WA3 you have to keep swapping back to your preferred one. Also, it is a lot harder to skin Winamp 3 because to skin it you need to know XML (eXtensible Markup Language) - which is probably why there is hardly any skins. The Thinger is a complete waste of space in Winamp 3 and also there is no option that lets you generate a HTML file listing all your songs as there was in Winamp 2.8. This is extremely useful for people with massive playlists and wish to list them.

I don't like it because they've changed the shell extensions so that no longer can you right click a folder and choose "Play in Winamp". This is sufficiently irritating to me that I downgraded back to 2.8.

You know they removed that generate html playlist from winamp 2.81. Luckily I had 2.80 on an old CD somewhere.
Winamp 3 runs too slowly (well not lightning quick like 2.80) on my PIII 600mhz machine with 780mb of ram.

Slow god damn it.

True. I'm using 2.9 Beta 2 right now. They've added video support to it, so I may downgrade even further to 2.8.

I think Nullsoft is trying to add too much garbage to Winamp.

Winamp 2.xx > Winamp 3

Klos is right. If you want video, just download the video plugin for winamp 2.8. Dont turn to total garbage like WA3.
