So Window Screen Wipers they come on in the rain and stop when its dry good feature but not all that intresting right?

So how cool would if be if you had bug splater on your window screen and you had to turn them on from time to time to clear them, or even in gravel or snow when behind cars or when its actually snowing you had to use them in order to see.

Personally i think this would be great and the window screen wipers would get more use of out them (just hope they wouldnt charge you for new wiper blades though haha).

You can press R3 to turn them on and off if I recall correctly, but there's really no reason to do so.

They do turn on in the snow aswell. I think that you could pick up everylittle thing, eg: bug splatters, but is it really noticable?

some good ideas, would be nice to be featured in GT5. Surely they would evolve it in the next GT series and make it more realistic.

I wish they made the windscreen a little bit dirtier or with reflections and glare, it's literally like there is nothing there. The wipers look weird in the dry.

You should also be able to select if you want them on or not when it's raining and also a fast / slow speed cycle (Press button once for slow, press again for fast and press again to turn off).

 it might seem funny at this moment, but you would often get odd bugs splatting on your windscreen at high speed racing (small bugs are hard to spot but bigger are). But in games you don't focus on the road as much in real life so you could see the odd bugs hitting the windscreen. This may seem alien, but as that feature has never been in racing/driving games at all, so you wouldn't realise how much bugs actually get hit. Unless to those who have participate in real racing on tracks.

All i'm trying to say it would be a 'cool' feature to have, to of course make it more realistic and would be relevant to the 'The Real Driving Simulator'

I remember F1 '97 for the PS1 had debris build up on your helmet visor in cockpit view.
Nice touch, shame 14 years later this current generation of 'super' computers can't do that! (or lazy programmers... :sly:)

Do you turn on your wipers for every bug splatter?

In real life? yes i do. Once they have hit my windscreen on my euro VW Lupo i put the washers on, my car HAS to be clean or i get annoyed. I actually spend all day on a sunday cleaning it if i spot it dirty anywhere.

I think an old Moto GP game had a bug splat feature. I certainly remeber having marks on the visor although I think the potential is there for elements such as dirt, water from aquaplaning and other variables to be viewed on the windows. It would certainly make the game a whole lot more interesting.

IIRC a while back in NFSII there was one track (don't know if it was Sydney or some Red Rocks/desert track) with a section where bugs mosquitos were squashed on your windshield.

EDIT: found a video of it on youtube!

Hippies/environmentalists would call that murder and demand that GT would be made a 18 rated game or banned :P

I played this game a lot when I was like 12 or something. Back then the graphics were soo good...now it just looks like crap! Can't even really tell if it's the Lotus GT1. :D

You would crap yourself...
X1 + Flying Bird = ...

 Well the bird would quite literally just slip/bounce off the X2010 windscreen because its so streamline. But if, somehow, the bird was flying so low it could get its arse stuck up between the two fins that is supporting the bottom front splitter :boggled:

Or the blood would go all over the windscreen and you wouldn't be able to see crap (see what I did there :D)

Theres always a select button if you need to use it. (see what i did there :P)

P.S people who drive in the cockpit view actually use it if its raining :)

When I drive my X1 in the rain, I use cockpit view for realism :D
But I hardly drive the X1, I don't think I've driven it for 3 weeks now!
Been letting Bob drive it but that's all.
I don't really like the X1.

I have driven it in the rain with the cockpit view but just to check it out though, its pretty awesome, but you cant really get anywhere with it  my favourite view is the hood.

It's called the X2010 now. Not X1

I prefer to call it the X1.
I've only ever called it the X2010 once.

Ever hit a Fire fly (or lighting bug, or glow worm, etc.) with a car? Glowing guts on the windshield + wipers = mom starts grossing out. :D
Her look of disgust was hilarious.

But if they have bugs hitting the windshield, why not animals running out into the track?

Bug splatters are in every simbin game on the pc, so is dirt buildup. Hopefully in an update.

running a enduro with a perfectly clean windscreen the whole time is a little....un-immersive
