Lately I've been having this issue where if I right click on something (mostly happens with .exe's but happened with other stuff as well) Windows Explorer would shut down and restart. I found a "fix" where I copied the Windows Explorer.exe into the "System32" folder (I think that's what it was) and it slightly fixed it but now anytime I right click on any .exe, whether in Windows Explorer or on the desktop, it shuts down completely, so I have to restart my computer to do anything. Anyone any idea on how to properly fix this?

Are you talking about WinXP or a different OS? What machine type are you using to run it?

My initial default suggestion would be to reinstall the OS on top of the existing installation. It shouldn't require a backup but do one anyway ;)

First open a command prompt with admin permissions.
Then use the following command
sfc /scannnow
After this has been done use the following command
chkdsk /f /r
Then reboot and let check disc scan for any hard drive issues, this can take a long time as it is scanning the entire disc surface.
