Windows XP HELP!

Ok, I just installed Windows XP on my old computer and it starts up fine. However before the menu screen and desktop apears, it turns into a rolling line across the screen like I am running PAL HELP ME! 😈

Are you sure? It is good if it is because I have another one. But how come I get a clear screen until the desktop?

How old is the computer and what are it's specs?

You may need new video card drivers...try rebooting in safe mode and getting an XP specific driver.

<- had serious stability issues until he got his hands on an XP specific vid. card driver.

Try what risingson77 said, get XP drivers for your card. If you still get the problem, then it's your monitor.

The monitor was dead! I hooked a new one up real quick this morning and boom it worked! So now the PC works fine. I just fealt like messing with it even though I just got two new DELLS's

Hm...but it was fine during startup.

I wonder if Windows was using a refresh rate the monitor didn't like.....
