There isn't an official F1 site as such but the most official you are going to get is FIA. My personal favourite is Autosport because they cover everything. F1-Live provide very good coverage including live timing and team reports and quotes. Others that I would recomend are Planet-F1 and Formula1.com. All the official teams and drivers have there own official and unofficial sites which are very good. I can post any team/drivers url if you want specific info.

btw the SV USGP coverage sounds great but I am not sure about  the digital feeds because I can't imagine Bernie giving anything away for free.

Wow, this will be awesome!  I don't guess we'll be able to select the view for ourself, though.

That would just rule, being able to select your own camera angles, but Id rather sit back, relax and watch 50 other people do all that camera fooling around for me. The speedvision team gets awesome angles on the Touring Car races and i bet there gonna do an amazing job on the USGP
