So today, after replacing the second person at my work due to me be so awesome, I was rewarded a new task of cleaning bathrooms. Lovely to save a company over four grand a month in wages and taxes and get majorly demoted for it. Back to the point, it blows my mind how much the bottom of a toilet seat and lid become so grimy and disgusting. Any thoughts?

Thanks dude, now some poor sap who fell on hard times won't be able to get a job as a janitor because you had to go and be taught a lesson in how awesome you actually are.

The two poor saps Happen to not care about there jobs and avoided work like the plague. Constantly late, poor work ethics, and round the clock smoke breaks. Should have given some details to avoid being reamed.

Sounds like your boss is kind of a 'Zapp Brannigan' type.

Your Boss: "Jeebus, have the boy clean the bathrooms"

You: " The boy sir?"

Your Boss: "Yes... you Jeebus, you clean the bathrooms"

Were the 2 guys before you ever warned of their bad work ethics, and told to up their game before they were canned?... if so then fair enough, you got the raw end of the deal.
If not... sounds like a bit of Karma is taking affect, i mean afterall, due to you being so awesome, you've potentially taken away 2 peoples livelihood.

Had a discussion with my boss on a colleague like this. He claimed that he had given 2 jobs (high profile contracting jobs) and the man handled it, so this was a good solution. I did put in my doubts that the quality of the work would be the same. Many people can take extra jobs on for a while (I did quite some recently), but that you get away with a temporary quality loss on regular stuff does not mean it is not there.

By the way, people work (generally) more efficient under pressure, you can best give them too much work.

Some people do work more efficient under pressure, (i personally hate working under too much pressure... but i do work more efficiently that way)... however, i have seen some colleagues crumble under pressure and become overwhelmed, so i'm not so sure it's a general rule.

They were warned a lot. Top of the bosses **** list for months. It's not like I just took the jobs of men with families stealing their kids food, they were two dropouts pissing their lives away.

So what is the point of this thread?

You mean like this?

I have a feeling this thread will descend into toilet humour pretty soon...
