Dear GT5 Racer,
You are invited to participate in the World Lupo Cup Challenge.

Car Requirements:
Only the 2003 Volswagen Lupo GTi Cup Car may be used (Colors may vary). This car may be won in the A-Spec Amateur European Hot Hatch Championship

Driver Aids:
None except ABS and racing line.

Tires:
Any

Tuning:
Any - but you are *restricted to 420PP
* At each event the lowest 5 drivers in the championship (attending the event) will be allowed to drive with 425pp - does not apply to any driver in the top 5 in the championship.

Weak


Championship Low Down:
The championship will be based on fair competitive racing, using real life tactics to promote a realistic world class format. The series will stay true to its name and will provide drivers with a once a week race. Race nights will consist of two races. There will be strict rules regarding unrealistic passing manoeuvres as well as unsportsmanlike driving or behaviour.
This will be an individual driver’s championship as well as a Team championship. Teams will consist of two drivers. Team mate selection may be pre-arranged or the host may group if entries are undecided.

When: Each thursday at 19h00 GMT

Where: My lounge - send a friend request to 'worduphomes' (if there is enough interest we will create 2 (or more) leagues. Details will be posted here if that is the case.

Race Format:
Qualifying: 10 minutes - Starts at 19h15 GMT and finishes at 20h25 GMT. Game qualifying results will remain final. At the end of qualifying, only the lowest 5 placed drivers in the chamionship are allowed to leave the track and increase their PP to 425pp. (the host will leave the track too to control the PP increase of those 5)
Race 1: Sprint race of 8 laps. (no pitstops)
Race 2: This will be the feature race of the night. The race distance will vary per track. The grid will be a reverse grid based on the sprint race finishing results. Race 2 will start immediately after Race 1. Each driver MUST make at least 1 pitstop per race.
Two pit stop windows will be allocated per feature race; this will also vary depending on race distance. The rule regarding this is that you may only pit in the allocated window slots. You may pit in both windows, having a two stop strategy, or you may select to pit in only one of the two provided.
Both races will have a 'formation lap' and rolling start (helps reduce lag problems), with no racing on the formation lap and overtaking will be allowed AFTER the 1st corner on lap 2 (or other 'host designated' corner).

12th Jan 2012 - Spa
Sprint Race - 6 laps
Feature Race - 22 laps
Pitstops - Laps 6,7,8 and ,15,16,17



The Rules
1. Drive as clean and respectful as possible. 'Door-Paint-exchange' IS ALLOWED and actively encouraged, BUT...
2. No hitting, ramming, corner cutting, or intentional blocking allowed.
3. If you bump someone (in front of you) in a corner braking zone, this could cause them to lose the inside (or 'apex-line') leaving a gap that you can squeeze into (on the inside). This is NOT ACCEPTABLE and you MUST allow them to exit the corner in front of you.
4. Accidents do happen. If you knock someone off course in a genuine accident, allow them to regain their position.
5. If there is any doubt as to whether you will be able to cleanly pull off a pass, wait till another corner.
6. NO DIVE-BOMBING! 'Dive-bombing' is where you come from an unrealistic distance behind the car in front under braking for a corner and collide with them, using their car as an 'extra brake'.
7. Bump drafting IS permitted as long as done properly. The bumping driver MUST back off before the braking zone to avoid situations as discribed in rule 3. (Bump-drafting is where you may not want to overtake the car ahead but you want to give them the benefit of your slipstream by bumping them on the straight to increase their speed.)
8. Drivers are expected to keep at least 2 wheels on the track at all times.
9. Drivers must not leave the track between Qualifying, Race1 and Race2 unless they are one of the (up to 5) drivers who are allowed to set their PP to 425pp between Qualifying and Race1.
10. If you are disconnected at any time, you may re-enter the lounge and the next race but you must start from the back of the grid on a 'last-come-last-place' basis. A disconnection will be treated as a DNF and you will not receive any points for any race you do not complete. If you get disconnected and re-enter, you may not increase your PP to the 425pp limit for the lowest 5 placed drivers (unless you are one of those 5 drivers). If it is suspected that you have done so, the performance of your car will be investigated using the race replay and you will be banned from the rest of the championship if found guilty.
11. There is a review system (described below) that must be used if you feel another driver has compromised your race unfairly.

Review System:
-In case of an incident, always first look at the replay
- If after seeing the replay, you still think another driver has disadvantaged you, first contact him by PM.
- If that does not resolve the incident, send a PM to the race steward (host).
- Steward will review the replay and if necessary take a race-decision.
- Never accuse another driver publicly.


After an incident review a driver found guilty could face any one or combination of the following:

- A warning
- Possible point deduction
- DQ from 1 race
- DQ from 1 week
- DQ from season.

Then the top drivers from each series will get moved into a 'Champions-league' repeat of the series and the lower placed drivers get to drive in their own 'Challenge-league' Cup repeat series...

We will sort out who goes into which league in the next few days.

Do the races start at 19.15GMT?
If so, I can't make it.
Or is the qualifying from 19.15 till 20.15? And races thereafter?

19:15GMT... I think that's uk time. We are currently doing the Rising Sun Championship (which ends this week) at the same time, so I think it will follow suite.
