Hello. I am trying to determine whether or not GT5P will recognize a new FFB steering wheel developed by Frex GP.
Here is a small clip of the new wheel in action....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW-lXxaGUN0
Now, the thing is, I have tried to get a straght answer out of ShigteT regarding the chances of it working on the PS3 and he doesn't think it will work for some reason, although he has not tried it on a PS3 himself yet.
Now, it appears he is just speculating and doesn't know one way or the other. But what we do know is, he has tested the wheel in Windows, using the Logitech Profiler software. If he's using the Logitech profiler, then it appears the game should recognize, right?
Also, I have read that the PS3 uses the same universal standard HID api that windows uses and thus, will recognize any USB device? Is this true?
What do you hardware/software experts think? Will GT5P see Frex's wheel as a Logitech wheel, even though it's not? You know what else is funny? When GT3 first came out, it was said to support Logitech FFB wheels ONLY. Yet I played and completed the game using a Thrustmaster FFB wheel! What does this say about the chances of GT5P supporting other non-Logitech FFB wheels?

ShigeTWe do not know if it would be possible to use with console in the future, but this Wheel is developed for PC only...not works with GT5 I think, because not tried it yet.
I think this 100% compatible standard DirectX HID force feedback wheel is easy to adopt for both consoles if SCE or Microsoft want.
I think this force feedback test program is not developed by logitech.
Thank you.
