would it be cool in GT5 to DL music?

hey everyone, since PS3 right now cant play tracks that you saved and play a game at the same time... would it be awesome, to down load music from previous games? i would love to hear the good ol GT2 intro song while watching a replay, or to hear the bullet adrenaline song from GT4. i guess the creators would make you pay for these songs.. but i heck would of pay.
Music in GT series has, but not all, been great and gives a huge atmosphere to the game compared to other racing games...


i got burnout yesterday and the song lists is .. ehh.. some are good, many are sucky, and i just cant get into it as much as in GT games.

I think it would be even better if we could make our own playlists and just load them off the PS3 HDD. Don't suppose that will happen though. Because of licensing and piracy issues.

With the power and capacity of the PS3, I think it's about time we were given the capability to at least expand the playlist with some of our own tracks included. Since GT5 is a 10 year anniversary game, not only do I think it should include all the car and track content from the previous verions, but the music tracks as well, and from all regions. And then also give us a folder we can add in our own music. I'd especially like to be able to make my own music with my humble bedroom studio and hear it come up from time to time.

i still cant believe playstation doesnt have this feature. considering some games on the first xbox supported this, you would think the most powerful system out right now would be at least up to par with its competition from the previous generation of consoles.

and while i generally turn off the music to to concentrate on the road, i could definitely rock mogwai or godspeed you black emperor during a race.

Yeah, I remember that being one feature I wish I could get when I saw it on a friend's Xbox. Allow me to put some of my music on the harddrive, and then I can finally listen to my own music while I'm playing. Not that I listen to music very often in the game... but for those times where I'm only half-concerned with lap times, it'd be nice.

Though, since my computer's in the same room, I can just turn the game's music off and load up iTunes .

my computer is in the same room too. but i actually have both my ps3 and computer going through the same receiver so sadly i would have to listen to the engine notes via my TV speakers if i used my computer to listen to music during a game.

i never like driving and listening to music, only replays, and yes i wonder why in PS3 u cant listen to your own tones while playing a game... IDK y, maybe they did his so the creators of games really go gold with the music they choose? or some hardware issues... i think since PS3 uses for some games HDD space while playing thats why you cant listen to it..
its too bad, i almost have 1000 songs on my PS3 with TECHNO and TRANCE

oh well, but at least they should include every song fro free as someone stated above

It was announced by Sony that custom soundtracks are possible with the last firmware update. It just depends on Polyphony now.

I'd like it in addition to the tracks they feel should be in. I've never had any complaints with the music PD has chosen and I've found myself checking out music I might not otherwise have heard.

Yeah, playin' our own music at Playstation 3 gamin should be a right. You know... external hard disk through USB playing our GBs, that what we need.

Between, yeah the song from GRAN TURISMO 2 was "Loosing My Favourite Game" by The Cardigans, but for example on GRAN TURISMO we'd too another big one "Everything Must Go (The Chemical Brothers Remix)" by Manic Street Preachers, with special engine start up & burn out effects over it on the beginning. I personally do not want to download music, at least not paying because you know.. they've already sold the soundtracks so many users have paid then before. If anybody needs any track from the series , nice to help you if I could, I've 17 GT series soundtrack disc or so. I still remember myself driving through Nürburgring with my Corvette Stingray over the Bethoven track .

Good question mate, time ago I heard that some of the tracks we've on the PAL version are not released on the others regions before, but I didn't knew if it was true. The GT series I've played are all the PAL versions, so I know it's on mine, but sometimes (specially for GT 1 and GT 3) there are many changes in their game music for different regions. Since on the GRAN TURISMO soundtracks they usually doesn't put the tracks for race (just the tracks for intro, screens, etc) I can't tell you if it comes on the japanese soundtrack and so on the NTSC-JAPAN disc.

I've it because apart of the soundtracks I've "audio extracts" of the GT discs for those songs that doesn't appears on any soundtrack (you know, on GRAN TURISMO 4, at least on the PAL version there are like 96 tracks or so...) so I just have it on my PAL version and on the audio extract of the PAL version disc. Usually NTSC-USA versions have less changes from the PAL versions than from the NTSC-JAPAN versions..., so anybody here with NTSC-USA or NTSC-JAPAN could confirm if the track appears or not on these?.

Ah okey, understood you region-idea now. Anyway, for a few games of the series you could find those region-extra tracks on *mp3 on the net. But of course, in case of a new GT it could took a few days or weeks until someone share it.

Let's see what kind of music they release with the GRAN TURISMO 5. I just have the music of GRAN TURISMO HD on my PC, but the music of GRAN TURISMO 5 PROLOGUE is released on 2 days oon it's soundtrack disc, I can't wait :_D !
