Would it kill PD to add in Drag Slicks?

Now that they added an official drag test-n-tune mode to GT5, long overdue from everyone racing at indy road course, isn't it about time to add in race slicks? Something to give FR cars realistic racing traction on the strip. Even some mickey thompson streets would give better traction than the "race softs" that burn rubber in third gear on a chevelle.

Anyone else think this should be added? It would be a small addition to any upcoming patches released in the near future.

I like what we have now. It's what's been in the game since GT1. Sure it can be improved on but its what we have and I'm just fine with it.

It's fine... until you feel how much different real drag racing is. Real drag racing suspension, tires, gear ratios, etc., is way different.

I almost forgot, they better add the ability to roll down your car window by tomorrow. OR ELSE.

Honestly, it ain't gonna happen so you might as well say, "wouldn't it be nice if". Not demanding.. it makes no sense for them to add anything like these things in this game. Racing slick are not a selling point for someone to buy this game. From a business standpoint, it only makes sense to wait until GT6. That's obvious.

I think people would buy a video game that had a good drag racing simulation. Road racing is not nearly as popular in America as it is in other parts of the world, unlike NASCAR and drag racing. It would be nice, and I agree that it won't happen in gt5; but I do not think it would be difficult to add a tree, and adjust some minor things. Until gt6 comes around, I'll just keep wishing.

it really doesnt matter either way you look at it gt is for driving simulator not a drag set up game... they just put the test track in so we can see the normal tests all cars have... example look at the mags road and track and any other mag when they show a car they show power weight 0-60 0-100 1/4 time and so on... this is a racing game not a drag racing game... and i have big doubts that any of that is gonna change... i mean 5 games and no drag racing... and i dont consider the strip in 4 as gt drag... so lets deal with what we have and cross fingers and hope and pray they wake up!

I see what you are saying, but drag racing is driving; therefore, the driving simulation should translate perfectly over to drag racing. Weight transfer, rear-end gear ratios, etc., are just as important in drag racing as it is in road racing. A real driving simulator should be able to cover any type of racing fathomable.

If that is the case, where are my motorcycles, atv's, monster trucks, big rigs etc...

A whole tire model that is tested by the staff and several professional drivers then put into the game, before drags radials and or slicks.

They already f:censored:ed us once with the increased grip update, new tires will just f:censored: us a second time. It will make us tune all over again everyone of our cars. You can save that for GT6 cause I aint f:censored:n doing this all over a third time for GT5.

There would be if they would put the right size tires and proper type of adjustable suspension. Hahaha

I don't care what game it is in, also tunning over and over is realistic to real life so why not in the game. I tune my cars over and over again especially for circuit racing. Drag wise I just set up tons of cars because the same one over and over is boring. I agree though GT6 should have it, I was just saying this needs to be made so drag racing is more realistic in the future as well as circuit.

The thing is though, I don't compare to you. I tuned most every car I have in my garage and not just base tunes, most likely within .005 of anyone else and in some cases even the fastest per my signature. So tuning to you is not the same as tuning for me. GT5 is what it is, and GT6 will be what it will be. If you don't stand by PDs decisions then this game isn't for you. Even though I say what I said, this company isn't like any other out there. The actually do a couple of the things we asked. As we all know, in the past, you bought a game and that was it, nothing else. Now though, it is a lot different. I can keep going on forever but I'm gonna stop because I'm tired and I have a plane to catch in 5hrs. Later....

Wow so much debate over it. After all of the additions for road racing in this game, and for a lack of a better realistic drag-racing game, I'd figure PD would attempt to capture more consumers into the big market of real life racers on the strip.

If it doesn't happen in GT5, that's fine, but it would be nice to see in the future nevertheless.

Now I don't understand what you're point is at all, because I actually agreed with you at the start of this. Now I'm not sure what you're trying to get at.

i would like to see it where the 60ft time was measured just like at the drag strip and it play a big part of besting your times with better 60fts,also it would help with the tuning your cars for the 1/4mile. But i agree with the person who said we need an acutal drag tire with tire pressure, and burnouts that play a part in getting your et's faster.

how about implementing a clutch into controls like fanboy forza has. just a suggestion, but drag racing would be good as an official type. slicks would alter everything we have tuned. id rather have slicks in gt6 to be honest
