Wouldn´t be cool if GT7 had an option to choose the menu music between GT1, GT3, GT4...etc ?

Well, why not? GT Sport already has the option to play menu music from GT5P-GT6 through selecting 'Transmission Mode', so I'm open to hearing more classic menu OSTs in GT7 through similar means.

I'd rather GT7 have a completely new original soundtrack after GT Sport, just so it feels completely fresh once you first boot up the game. I love the classic songs, but I personally want something new.


With that said, I think it would be an awesome idea if menu soundeffects and soundtracks from past games could be rewards for certain events, then enabled. This would give players the choice to play GT7 with (for example) GT4 menu sound effects, and a GT5 soundtrack. I think it would work best as endgame rewards though.

I think something like that would go down very well with players old and new. New soundtracks and sound effects definitely provides freshness and new feelings/vibes etc. That said, having the option for previous games‘ sound effects would also be great.

I personally like the GT2/3 menu pressing sounds but perhaps having the GT4 race menu music (before starting a race) would go down a treat. If it means having GT2 East City theme for the Brand Central and GT5 Used Car Dealership theme for the GT7 Used Car Dealership then I’m definitely on board with that. However, I don’t think it being an endgame option is the best in my opinion at least - I feel it being endgame makes the idea of nostalgic sound effects less desirable as some players may not be willing to grind all the way just to unlock nostalgic sound effects. But it’s entirely an opinion so we’ll just have to wait and see if Polyphony Digital decide to implement this fairly requested feature.

Even though I'm a very nostalgic guy, I think GT7 should have its own soundtrack, but still with a reasonable selection of remixed tracks from older GTs. For example, take "From the East", which first appeared on the japanese version of GT1, then it got remixed for GT2. then remixed again for GT4. I really dig this kind of evolution, because it keeps the melody that makes us nostalgic while giving a new feeling to the song. Put this along with new music for GT7 and I'm a happy man.

Well, I'm gonna be honest, I would gladly pay a DLC with all previous GT menu and sound effects.

GTP_reddevil has a point, it will not motivate everyone if it's an event reward.

With the in-game menu music, I assume PD holds the rights, but the songs that where incorporated in each game PD released, they would probably have to be re-negotiated with each artist again for use.
