2. 426 Hemi (Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car) - 1:33.596 (9 points)
3. frentzey (Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype) - 1.33.889 (8 points)
4. rhnelson (Ford Focus Rally Car) - 1:34.907 (7 points)

6. lav01 (Toyota Corolla Rally Car) - 1:36.340 (5 points)
7. Pags68 (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car) - 1:36.449 (4 points)

Everyone else gets 0 points for DNS.

The next course is Swiss Alps, and times are due on Feburary 11th.

Alright! I did ok, but my Xsara time was unbeatable - but it's for nothin'. AltF8, you should hook up lav01 with a new ride, I could barely push 1:36 with the Corolla, it could even out the competition without that slug of a car. Good job with the race :D !

i ran 20 or so laps in the corolla and got the 36. just for fun i ran the impreza prototype for one lap and got a SLOPPY 35.0 which couldnt be matched in the corolla so i stopped.

i guess some cars are more equal than others.

DANG! I forgot about this arg Lancer Evo 6 for me? Allright next round I'm in!

How about letting the person with the slowest time in each round get first choice on a car for the next round? Second slowest gets second choice etc.

Okay, after talking at length with GVX, I'd like to make some changes after this race.

Following the conclusion of this race (or now, if everyone wants to), we'll 'hit the reset button' and start over. Now, everyone will be randomly placed into a car, as before. The Corolla will be dropped also. After the first race, we'll move everyone to a different car for the next race. And, after that one, we'll do it again - making sure that no one receives the same car twice.

This way, it's a test of driver skill - not who's got the fastest car.

What do you all think?

I'm more than happy to introduce the new rules now. It makes it abit more fairer if we get to drive different cars as you said Alt! Would everyone be happy with a 3-day turn around on - finding out the track - getting your car - posting your time and getting results?

Whatever you guys do is fine with me just tell me via PM when everthing is ready and what car I will be using :)

Thanks for the PM to the link GVX. I also think that having varing cars is a good idea. I'm not really all that great with the whole rally thing but I'll give it a shot whenever the new rules and such are posted :)

That would be a little short for me, real life often gets in the way.
A week would be better, but I'll live with whatever is decided.

Sounds good to me. I'd just as soon start over now.

Rick

Starting over certainly won't bother me. I didn't have time to get many laps in...last place in a good car...aargh :embarrassed:. Getting a different car for each race sounds like a real good idea to me. The 3 day window for each race may make it hard for me to even have a time to submit for some tracks, but if those are the rules, so be it.

I'm cool with the reset, however, I too need a week to find the time to run the event, three days is too short.
If we are going to change cars after each race, why don't we leave the Corolla in. I think it would be a great test of driving skill and everyone would have to use it.

Ok so if we take what opinions we have so far most people would be happy with the following changes to the series.

:caution: We stay with the 1 week time scale :caution:

:caution: We change cars each week and you don't run the same car twice :caution:

:caution: We start over with a new randomly selected car :caution:

:caution: We keep the Corolla in anyway. :caution:

We just need to decide on how many races we want to make the series. 8 would give us the 4 rally stages in both directions.

Swiss Alps
Smokey Mountain
Tahiti
Tahiti Maze

So does that mean we get new cars for this race? Alt did you wanna do your random selection thing again.

From what I can gather these are probably the confirmed 9 drivers!

:hypnotize - AltF8
:hypnotize - 426 Hemi
:hypnotize - Zerocool85
:hypnotize - Pags 68
:hypnotize - rhnelson
:hypnotize - lavo1
:hypnotize - frentzey
:hypnotize - 353 Hemi
:hypnotize - GVX

The 9 cars would be as before!

:star: - Peugeot 206 Rally Car
:star: - Toyota Corolla Rally Car
:star: - Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car
:star: - Ford Escort Rally Car
:star: - Ford Focus Rally Car
:star: - Subaru Impreza Rally Car
:star: - Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype
:star: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car
:star: - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII Rally Car Prototype

9 drivers and 9 cars? Maybe 9 rounds would work to. Maybe SS5 in the wet as a finale?

Sounds good. We'll run it like this. I'll make new threads with this information and a list of the first set.

I am just browsing through here seeing what is going on. I see this is the big subject here right now. I had a little thought...

Why not just assign the same to everyone on the same race...? Example: Swiss Alps w/ Evo VI

I figure there would be a lot of close times, but that let's everyone have complete level equipment. Same course, same car, no differences...

That is just my opinion, maybe I should start something like this up sometime...... What do you think?

Let me know what you think, by PM's, leaving messages here, or emailing me (if it works) from here. Good luck to everyone already involved here!
:D

Stop causing trouble  :D ojk. Sure if we get another driver and increase the seires to 10 races! Let's just race!

True. It was taken out because of the fact that it's not AWD.

Anyone else have any complaints?

This is not a complaint. We've had a lot of discussion, you're in charge and doing the work, as far as I'm concerned you can make any necessary decisions and start the series.

Rick

I wanted the Xsara!!! You can take your overweight, drivetrain-drag-ridden AWD 'cars', I'll take my chances.

Sure, at this point, my participation would be more for fun/exhibition than competition, but I still wanna get in.

Yes, I meant if anyone had any complaints, not anyone else.

Sorry. :)
