:: WRS Driver's Choice : Week 100 ::

This is your chance to voice your opinion regarding what type of WRS combo we will have for week 100. You have 2 options, the option with the most votes will be chosen for that week, and the losing option will be carried forward to the next WRS Drivers Choice, and will therefore compete against a different option. The losing option for the Driver's Choice week 96 was GT-Mode

When you make your choice, you can also post here with a suggestion that matches your choice. For example, if you vote for GT-Mode, you therefore make a suggestion based on GT-Mode. If you vote for Arcade Rally, you therefore make a suggestion based on Arcade Rally. Easy?

You can also suggest a car that has already been used in the WRS. Remember that not all drivers have competed in every race.

If someone makes a suggestion that you agree with, say so. Also, do the same if you don’t agree with it.

A few days before the publication of week 100, I will select a suggestion for week 100 (with a slight alteration if needed).

Only WRS members can vote. Any votes made by a non WRS member will be ignored.

The two options for week 100 are:

1. GT-Mode.
2. Something special for WRS 100 (anything goes)

I was thinking the Toyota 7 race car (1970) at Motegi road course

I was thinking along the lines of another Formula GT race. Last time one was ran was when I was a glimpse in the milkman's eye...

Or yeah, Toyota 7 or Chapparral 2J on Motegi would do well.

Or, another combo I liked lately, the Chapparral 2D @ Tsukuba. 3 Gears + Technical Track means hours of fun and perplexion. We could multilap there...

i voted 'something special' but i want that to be in gt-mode.

* it should include car selection based on a country and/or ptw limitations
* track selection can be polled for but my favvies are el cap, le mans 2, and midfield
* car type: concept cars like nardo, hsc, cien on r1's
* no. of laps based on laptime, say 6-8 minutes
* otherwise no limitations
* if the race is special or long it might be prolonged to 2 weeks

jerry might convince jordan to throw in an item from the shop for the division winners.

Its kinda stupid idea but, why not with the Subaru 360???:scared:
its a ****ing s**t
JOKES:) :sly:
OF COURSE I'M NOT SERIOUS!!!!
Why not with the Ford GT40 Gulf '69 Race car??
IT'S A GOOD IDEA,winner of Le Mans 4 consecutive years AND KICK THE FERRARI'S A$$!!!
We can get a lot of fun with it!!

I like the idea of the black supercars but that crest at T1 on El cap is not nice to such monster cars ... another track in the same car would be nicer! .. but if it ends up El cap then I will be happy to take part also

I also like the suggestion of the GT40 on virtually any track as its an underused brilliant car to drive with the right set up:tup:

Find someone important to the WRS, find out what he drives, and find out where he lives. Then pick a similar car, on a track that's as close as possible. :D

For week 100 I would like to see a race at Fuji, it hasn't been done for a LONG time and when it was done last (I think it was week 5) I didn't know about it, so taking the Black R92CP (or any black car) would be great imo.

I think an historic car at an historic track.

Le Mans is the first track that comes to mind (N'ring might be for some, but THIS is the track for me) Do le Sarthe II w/o chicanes for that added touch of history

And for cars I was thinking either the '69 Ford GT40 or Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. Both have a storied past and would be a good call for the Century mark of the WRS.

Just my $.02

Best idea I've heard so far.

And make it truly hard... N3 tires with no traction control or drivers aids... now that would be fun!

I was thinking along the lines perhaps of the Cizetta, because it's great to drive when you finally get the hang of it, but I want it badly in Arcade Only. Presumably at a place where it's handling triats could become useful, like El Capitan...

Or, maybe something along the lines of classic homologation cars at Citi d'Aria. (Renault 5 Turbo Road Car, BMW 2002Tii, Gullwing, 205 Turbo, RS200, Silvia 240RS, Skyline 2000 GT-R '73, ect.)

Cheers,

Not that it means a hill of beans since I'm senior nobody around here, but I think lemans is a terrible track. It's blasphemy I know but isn't it really nothing more than a bunch of endless straightaways linked by a few brutally excessive brakepoints?? Before anybody reminds me, I am fully aware of the history of the track and it's importance to racing but man, it's just boring.

I agree with Mr P perhaps El Capitan could end up being a launchpad for a monster like the GT One. 5 laps on Autumn Ring Mini seems like it would be a hoot.

if the consensus grows towards el capitan (my track) then i'll gladly give in from prod cars and car choice towards one of the blackies. the crest after t1 at el cap is just one twist to negotiate. early braking as in every turn, wait just a little before cramming into the right while fully in the blind, prey a bit, and come out surprisingly fast: i love it!

well i won't be in town when that race occurs, but a jag e-type vs 300sl gullwing race has potential... on S1's or N3's of course...

Purr-fect. Jag E-Type Vs. 300SL Gullwing would require some balancing to get right, since the AI Gullwing is much quicker, yet the E-Type is a tyre-conserver.

Though... A Battle of heavyweight sedans in GT Mode should be nice. Jag S-Type R Vs. Mercedes AMGs Vs. BMW M5 Vs. Audi S6 should be fun.

I agree. the black race cars should stay on the ground not fly over hills. Has the toyota 7 been used yet? It's just a fun old school monster...

How about the Cadillac Cien for the 100th WRS? The Cien (Spanish for 100) was, as all probably know, produced in celebration of Cadillac's 100th birthday. The Cien might look nice on El Capitan.

Hmm... Cien, eh?

How 'bout a free-selection Hypercar week at El Capitan - Roadcars, 850HP powercap (To allow Zondas, Saleens, Ford GTs, Vipers, Ciens, TVR Spd.12s and, for the fanboys, Slylines [intentional] and Supras), R2 or R1, no wings (since some won't accept it)? Kinda like that Week 45 special, but roadcars only...

I like that! Imagine all of those great cars running around El Cap!

I was thinking more in ways of DTM or a nice tarmac rally.
Something what is fun for many and no excentric combo's for the happy few.:D

Nr 100 deserves a lot of submissions.👍

in ways of DTM

👍

*nods*

I got carried away with oddball fun-stuff... But a DTM car just sounds great! Can't help but remember the first time I drove the Audi Abt TT-r - my first racecar, and with one hell of an engine!

Uhm, I can't vote GT-Mode or Special this week... Either way, it's going to be special.

I'm ALLLLLLLLLL for using the Gullwing, and/or the Jag E-Type. I'm a huge fan of driving the classic cars, even all those many much slower ones from the 60s and 70s.

I still like the C1 Corvette in GT Mode fully modded(or near it) on road tires. Maybe make it a 200 point race with AI? The C1's good on harder tires, and can beat much faster cars if you decide to give it some grip as well. Definitely an awesome car to bust around in GT Mode. Even in the dirt if you keep the power down enough! It's really a blast to drive and TUNE.

I'm also all for an old school GT40 race...

As far as heading to El Capitan, I REALLY like that track, but unless you're keeping it real with something that has less than 500hp, or TONS of downforce and under 650hp, noooo thanks. It's just annoying at that point. That track is not made for super fast cars, at all.

Hyper car would be good, but not at El Cap.

Big sedans though, hmm... I see that as fun too, but not necessarily on El Cap.

And some testing WOULD be required for things to get them evened up well enough. I'm willing to help test stuff, if you'd like Jerry.

One more thing, 80s races!!! Anything from the 80s, with some sort of lowish power limit, aka a higher pwr to weight ratio to make the lighter, less powerful cars have a chance. On a track that doesn't reward HP too much, obviously. Maybe require RWD only, or FWD only? Or EITHER FWD or RWD, but NOT AWD? :)

Actually the mercedes and Jag aren't that bad on hard tires in stockish trim. Just gotta beware of the insane need for a limited slip differential... Both are REALLY nice around the ring though, the Merc more so than the other. N3s, or N2s even, in lightened trim in Arcade mode, with power set to make them pretty even...(assuming gearing allows)

 You got my number with this one.

Don't ruin a good track with way too much speed!! Please? 💡

You've got a point. El Capitan is most suitable for good-handling lower-powered roadcars. And here's one I've been tinkering a lot (in fact, since october this year): The RUF 3400S @ El Capitan. Easy 200-pointer in the enduro, and the best thing - it's damn addicting and fast. 1'51s out of my hands means it's one of the quickest ElCap weapons available for that PWR (300HP/1200KG). It's just fun, endlessly lapping the track...

So another good track for the hypercars... Another visit to Midfield? Which would also make a great idea for the DTM race... Perhaps a multilapper DTM? Two laps of Midfield, with AI, should sum up to around 2:20 minutes (considering the standing-start)... Perhaps this way:

DTM car X, Rn Tyres, At least one DTM opponent in the AI.
