Looking to get a floor shifter to fit a TH350 Chevy Transmission, something in the effect of a B&M etc.

EDIT: Also looking to get matching gauges ( same style gauges, no mismatch)
Need to get oil pressure, water temp, fuel level and volts. They can be mechanical or electric.

Have you tried craigslist in your area?

If I recall, the B&M Megashifter can be had pretty cheap. (like..119.00?) I've got one in my deceased chevy. The action on it is pretty smooth.

Heh cheap, looking on various sites, the Megashifter is almost $200 new (over $200 if you want the truck version with taller base). Just whatever you do, do NOT buy the Mr. Gasket universal shifter, it is HORRIBLE!

I have wore craig's list out locally, I really don't like craig's list because every time I do find something I contact them and set up a time and such to meet them and they never show up and never respond to my email. Pisses me off so bad that if they did contact me back I would get arrested if I met them....

I had the quarter stick in my Nova and when I sold it and got my Chevelle I liked the quarter stick so much I got one for it too. I can do ebay, but I was just seeing if anyone here at GTP had one to sale first.

I'm curious as to what the point of having any kind of aftermarket shifter in an automatic car is. Don't you just, put it in "D" and leave it there?

Well in my caprice that the shifter is going in yes I will be leaving it in "D". The reason I need a floor shifter is because I pulled the 700R4 out and replaced it with a TH350 and the linkage is completely different from the 4 speed to the 3 speed and won't work.

Now, in my Nova and my Chevelle no I did not just leave it in "D". The Chevelle had a full manual reverse valve body in it so if you had it in "D" and started driving you would be in 3rd. Consistency is key in drag and also relying on the modulator to decide when to shift for you doesn't give the best performance results. Auto's always shift to early, well in older muscle cars they did, I'm don't know about the cars of today because I don't drive a car of today. And also if your running down the track you don't want to miss a gear so when you have a aftermarket floor shifter you can slam it up into gear and it won't skip that gear because of its design, try not missing a gear shifting on the column while running a 6.89 in the 1/8 mile.
