Hi all
I am returning to sim racing after a few years off. I don't have a decent PC and no budget for one, so it seemed to me that the best option was to resurrect my old cockpit using Project Cars on my son's XB One. Actually found it very good so far.
Bought a TX wheel base, and sold my Frex shifter to buy a TP8A. I''ll be buying a DSD TX quick release to mount my Sparco P260 that was on my G25 when I played iracing.
But now I need to sort pedals (a cheap set came with the TX base and I hate the brake as I was used to load cell). Really need some input on what I do here. My options appear to be:
(1) My current G25 pedals have AP Electrix load cell. I would further upgrade with Nixim springs for gas and clutch, and DSD Tilton pedals. The issue here is that I have no idea if the T.RJ12 DB9 adapter works with the AP Electrix load cell (I have asked both Thrustmaster and AP Electrix but no response yet). This option will cost £10 for the adapter, £36 for the springs and £30 for the DSD Tilton pads. So £76 if the T.RJ12 works, plus a bit of minimal faffing to install springs etc. For obvious reasons this is my preference but is quite uncertain.
(2) Another option is the MPPC Board but I must admit to being a little hesistant about the DIY aspect - particularly as MPPC are pretty clear on their website on no support (if I can find the right connectors I'd be fairly confident doing the brake and clutch, but I've no real idea how to wire the load cell where the board has 4 pins). This option will cost £70 for the MPPC Board and cable (plus no doubt a bit for misc connectors), £36 for the springs and £30 for the DSD Tilton pads. £136+ plus a fair bit of electronic fiddling (and the risk of failure) for the MPPC option.
(3) Set of used CSR Elites (there's a set used on another forums buysell for £120) and Basherboard CPX £55 shipped. £175.
(4) T3PA-Pro and either Ricmo or Bodin (if they become available) load cell. This will run my £150 for the pedals and say another £150 for the load cell, shipped. I suppose in theory some T3PA (not pro) is possible at £100 plus £80 for Bodin load cell (as he says he is making some more shortly), but if I go Thrustmaster I think I'd be inclined to go the route of being able to GT mount them. £300 plus a bit of faffing to install the load cell.
I did post this on another forum but then noticed this seems to be a better frequented board with people from Fanatec and Nixim actually posting.
