I'm a network engineer and can't seem to figure this one out :confused: I have setup a new router at home, the SSID shows up on the Xbox I put the WPA2 key in and then it fails the network test

I tried reseting the network settings to factory default and then trying again but that didn't work. Help please

its odd, i have a wireless adapter for my old xbox and when i do the connection test it tells me that it cant connect to live. Funny thing though, when i exit and log into my account it connects just fine.

I dont have any help, but i hope you find a fix to your problem.

OK I narrowed it down to an issue with the encryption used for the WiFi network. When I set up my WiFi network to have no encryption it works fine. When I set it to WPA-PSK it connects fine, but when I set it to WPA2-PSK then I start to have issues even though and I quote from MS Website

Use WPA2 if possible: The best wireless encryption to use with your Xbox 360 console is WPA2 with AES encryption.

That is just so misleading it is unbelievable I've spent an hour trying to figure out why it doesn't connect. Now I know it is because I used MS advice

edit: just contacted Xbox support and told them that their instructions seem to be misleading
