I'm not overly keen on the styling but for Yamaha to do another car is great stuff. Love the weight too.

Don't really like the front of it, looks too much like a beaten up Toyota FT-1, but the side profile and rear is looking fantastic!

Let's hope that they'll put in a decent engine in it! Knowing Yamaha, they sure know how to build engines (S80/XC90, 2JZ Supra, co-devs of the LFA engine).

Not a manual and no info of motor, which is probably a motorbike power unit.. bah. Humbug, I say!

Taurus SHO, Toyota Corolla XRS, etc, etc.

I'd buy one.

Looks like a fun, likely somewhat affordable sports car - I'd be in for it a million times over, if it were ever sold outside of Japan. Especially if it uses one of those ridiculous setups from the R1 or whatever.

Why would a company known for building all sorts of engine, restrict themselves to a motorbike engine only?

Anyways as for the car itself I agree with @20832, reminds me of a FT-1 just with some hurt put on it. Also seems to have a bit of cross with a BMW i8 and Mclaren exhaust outlets

When I first saw it pop up on Instagram during its unveiling, I thought it was a new FT-1 as well.

Side profile is super-90's. But the ideas behind it are anything but dated. It would be very cool if they built it, but I'm guessing the chances of that are slim.

And yet that still doesn't mean it will have a motorbike engine, why not wait to see what happens before you just slag it off.
It's a lightweight car. It doesn't need much torque to move around, just like Lotus Elise.

That's great, point still stands, unless you can tell the future your negativity for something you know nothing about seems irrational.

Yamaha has plenty of engines in their tool set, and may even build a brand new one for this car...wow. See how not knowing what may come allows for speculation beyond what you seem adamant about.
