I have been waiting for GT5 to come out since I finished the "Scrooge does GT4" series almost three years ago. I was kind of getting into a "never going to play GT again" mindset so I put away the PS2 in some out of sight shelf in the garage about a year ago.
Thanks to our Prime Minister (who gave everyone a couple of thou for xmas to help stave off recession) I finally replaced the old NSTC TV for a Full HD LCD. While I was putting the old TV in the garage I found the PS2 and the GT4 stuff...
I hooked it up to the new TV just to see if it looked any better... Dang! Having a PAL PS2 going through a converter into a NTSC TV really gave crap image quality. I would have enjoyed GT4 a lot more if I had this kind of image quality!
So I started a new game. I am a bit rusty to say the least. It has been almost three years since I last played GT4. But that kind of makes it exciting in a way. I got a new game (7 silvers... yay!) and a brand new TV in which I can play the game on 16:9 and actually see a lot of the detail that was pretty blurry on the old setup so I am having fun.
I think this time I will do the game I was thinking of doing when I finished the Scrooge series. It it something along these lines:
- 1 hour play per day
- All licences and all tests first
- All A Spec races
- GT4 Genome discovery. Sounds fancy but all it is is to map all the possible races that can be run with each car with and without modifications.
Should be fun...
Cheers,,
