Well, I just bought a RUF Yellow Bird (my third), and want some ideas on how I should paint the car/wheels. Preferably not grey or white. So, what do you think?

Navy blue
Silver or white wheels

Or gold chrome (just kidding)
I'll try that.
GREEN. (lime? any nice shade really..)
With whatever wheels that go with it :)
Also this. I saw an old 911 in lime green at the regional auto show last year, and it looked pretty sweet, though it was in perfect condition.

One thing that I do a lot with my RUFs, is to mimick real Porsche colors... It's an addictive game, specially for Porsche fans. I already have like 30 RUFs and can't resist when I see one in the UCD. With the yellowbird I usually do colors common to regular Porsche 964 turbo, such as red with silver BBS wheels. Light green works well too, same for light blue! I love the Singer 911 too, so I have 2 yellowbirds with the same colors/specs... (the RUFs feel just right with a bit less power, from 300 to 380hp, try it! I use some ballast at the front to keep things right too)

For other models, the RUF BTRs can look a lot like RAUH-Welt Begrieff clones. Strong colors, big wings, etc...

For the BTR, RWB wannabes... matte colors look the business on them! With the TE-37s and big wings, they become great clones.

For the RUF RGT, the GT3RS combo works wonders... a lot of GTP users use these colors with sucess :)

Frash Green from Lexus LFA looks exactly like this:

Like I said, making cars inspired by factory or tuner versions is a fun game, once you start, you'll not want to end soon.

Good luck!

Thanks! I might try AMG Alubeam silver from the SLS to try and mimic the singer 911 topgear.com tested.

 ^^^

That gray GT3RS looks amazing!

And you're just like me, everytime a RUF comes up I just can't let it go!

Dangit OP if you'd asked this maybe a while ago i would've sent you a couple more RUF's to play with

Yep, I was almost trying to resist upon a 3400S that just appeared on the UCD.

But... er... bought it! My 4th 3400S, need to do some Boxter research again to see what I'll come up with!

Paint it black and throw some yellow BBS wheels and you got the BlackBird! (Wangan Midnight reference).

Matte Green with GT_Pasteltone (The light purple one) With Comfort Soft Tyres. Drifters have to look obnoxious.

Man I just got a handle on my RUF mania then I clicked on this thread. I.....need.....more......RUF's......STAT. I have about 30 RUF's as of now. Looks like I'll need more to try every color scheme from RL I can come close to replicating in GT5. Just wish there was some deep dish rim selection.

Alright, I've actually done two: one in Botanical Green Metallic (Jaguar XKR) and one in AMG Alubeam Silber (SLS AMG).
