GT3 no doubt is the best so far!

GT4 really dropped the progress of the series (handling sucked, drove like arcade)

and ofcourse GT5 has the biggest potential to be the best GT,

considering the advances PS3 can bring to the game.

I have to say gt4 had more features like fuel etc but it did lack in things most notebly tracks that were droped from gt3 although good new ones did appear i missed SSR11.

GT3 had that simple and fun factor. Menus were easy to navigate, and gameplay had a perfect balance of realism and fun. GT3 was best for sure.

^ saying something is your favorite and saying something is "the best" are two seperate things, lilmann. It's impossible to say which game is "the best", there are always reasons to disprove this. :)

So far as the poll goes, I can't decide. I'm torn between GT1, GT2, and GT4 for various reasons. GT3 is actually my least favorite, and I've never played any of others except GT5P, which (my opinion) isn't really a full game in comparison to the regular GTs, if that makes any sense.

i didnt understand what did u mean by saying:
"I've never played any of others"?
Did u mean u played only GT3,GT5P?

This pretty much sums up what I was going to say...

GT PSP was my most favorite. a lot of cars and tracks like GT4 and the simplicity and high difficulty like GT3. if the AI was too easy to beat i wouldn't play it everyday. i always love a challenge so i have driven on all the tracks until they were S ranks where i can really enjoy the game

GT2 is my favourite. It has so many crazy cars like Suzuki Pikes' Peak duo, Speed 12, HKS Drag duo, Espace F1, Ford GT40/90, Vectors, Venturis, a bunch of RUFs, Lancia Y ( What? That car looks odd for me :D ) and many more. And its a massive game for a PS1. What a good 'ol days... :nervous:

That's my bro! That is exactly how I feel of the game.

Each one has its own reasons:
GT1-Started it all
GT2-slightly biased because I'm playing it right now
GT3-I can't say anything, own it, never played it
GT4-Started it all for me
GT5P-Very fun, many cool cars, new tracks.
GT4P-Never played it
GT PSP-Never played it but heard it wasnt great. But GT fans think its great.
I'll have to pick GT4. 700+ cars, 3 realistic used car lots, many new manufacturers, many international road and city courses. Best license testing I ever had. Rallies weren't just dirt anymore, either. And the wet Tsukuba! Group C Le Mans.....I could go all day.
But the best reason was that it was the 1st GT I owned, and the largeness of the game allowed me to have endless hours of fun.

I really like them all. Its hard to really choose one because they are all good for similar reasons and also very different reasons.

1 Was just great. Nobody was trying to do what GT was doing at that point. My friends would race against each other all of the time but I havent played it in ages.

2 3 and 4 are all my favorites in different ways.

2 is just MASSIVE. There are things that are in 2 that never made it into another GT EVER. The music was great and nicely representative of the time. I think out of all of the GT soundtracks, 2 was the best received. Even the menu music was great. It also had a slew of tracks that got cut in the later games. Another great thing that made its way into 3 but not as much into 4 was the individual manufacturer and model information. They took time out to talk about everything in detail - i love that.

3 Was the beginning of a new generation and while it didnt have as many cars it had a lot of cars that you could really sink your teeth into and want to drive. Not only that but it was so damn pretty. Even the presentation of the menus and the track previews (in arcade) were really polished. I enjoyed every second driving my little pink vitz around. 3 was just so accessible. It was the GT formula simplified and perfected (to an extent). It also stole hours of my life because of one thing - DRIFTING. I could hardly even touch a race after a while because all I would do was drift. If anyone ever saw Gran Dorifto 1 when it came out, you would be crazy not to want to try some of the craziness that went down in the video. And to a lesser extent the really crazy replay filters. Again, it was just so pretty. Pretty and straight to the point.

Personally I feel 4 has some of the best physics, although for some reason its ridiculously hard to drift in 4 vs 3. It has a ton of cars, amazing graphics and adds a lot of little bits that make it very polished. I mean photomode alone is enough for me to spend DAYS playing, and editing. Even though a lot of tracks were gone from 4, a few really good ones were added. Also, as soon as you discovered the "hidden" tracks on the playlist and turned off some others, the music just brightened up (i love the hidden tracks). 4 also felt very official for some reason. Having b spec was alright but being able to run time attacks on nurburgring or any other track with the new fully 900 degree wheel just opened my playing to brand new experiences and learning. To add to that point, the introduction of the point system telling you how difficult a race was (along with the driving missions) really boosted the emphasis on tuning and learning the tracks and learning the car etc etc and pushing yourself instead of wiping the floor with everyone in your f1 car because nobody would stop you.

And for all of those reasons and more, I cant quite pick a favorite. When each came out, they were amazing and most of them are still very playable (if you can get over the graphics).

5P is great but not complete and I never owned gtpsp so i cant say much about those but i cant wait for 5.

From favorite to least favorite.

GT2 - By the time GT2 came out I understood more about the series and about racing, and I was awestruck by how HUGE it was. 500 cars? Rallying? GT1 was very set in the Japanese automotive industry, with a little bit of US and UK here and there. GT2 expanded internationally, introduced a lot of things and has my favorite cars and fictional tracks in any GT.

GT1 - Got it as a gift when I was 5 because I liked cars. Naturally it was lost on me, but I did appreciate all the different cars and it did teach me more than I ever could have learned on my own - about racing, about cars, etc. Who says games can't be educational? So yeah there is kind of a nostalgia factor with the first game that is most of the reason why I like it so much. Amazing soundtrack too!

GT4 - Pretty much liked this one for the same reasons I liked GT2, but it hasn't aged as well with me. Loved the old rally cars, Group C racers, and of course, Nurburgring and La Sarthe. Still a great looking game in HD.

GT3 - My least favorite, but still an amazing game obviously. It looked so real when it came out (great showpiece for the PS2), and the physics were the best of the four in my opinion. The only reason it's last on my list is the car and track roster.

I only played the main releases.

GT4 is my least favorite, yeah 700 cars yeah, 50 tracks yeah, get rid of good tracks and replace them with crappy tracks, and then add some more crappy tracks on top of it, INSTEAD of bringing back some GT2 tracks AND keeping the GT3 tracks.
Poor simulator.

GTPSP is better, but no career mode, 800 cars is a lie, yeah 35 tracks, but again...half of the tracks in GTPSP are crap.

GT3 leans on the better side, yeah you might say only 150 cars, but i'll use about half of them.
Not many tracks...repetetive career mode, however in this case, the pros outweigh the cons. :D

GT2 comes second, 600 cars, loads of tracks (not crappy ones), the fact that some stuff that never appeared in later GTs is sad.
Worse graphics then GT1. Tad worse soundtrack.
But still, the pros WAAAY outweigh the cons.

GT1 is my all-time favorite GT and always will be. The soundtrack is unrivalled.
The memories...there is so much i could talk about GT1 but i'll stop. :dunce:

I've only played GT5P and GTPSP, I'm off to a good start, but GT3 looks good and the soundtracks are awesome.

Also speaking of memories, I love NFS Porsche 2000, that game made me try GT

GT3 was the best for me, I recieved it for Christmas when I was 5, it came with the PS2, and I had been playing since then on a emulator on my old, slow PC. I loved it. And the game was just staggering, this is by far the GT game that I've played most in my life (and not only GT, but probably one of the most that I've ever played).

GT4 was different, huge amount of cars and features, amazing menus and BGM, but not feeling the same like previous GT. More like an interactive museum (though it was great!).

Quite a nice game! I've also played that one for a lot of hours (the PSX version, and I have currently installed the PC version).

Despite the endless number of mini-endurance races that plague Professional League, GT3 is easily the best out of the main games for me.

I still can't believe I got this amazing for only $2 at Gamestop.

Since the Gran Turismo series has always emphasised having the best physics and graphics, and with every iteration both those aspects have only got better, it has to be Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Sure, it lacks in sheer size compared to past titles in the series, but I personally value quality over quantity.

I'm inclined to agree that GT3 was the best game in my opinion. In some ways, it looks better than GT4. Might sound strange but one thing which I've noticed that GT3 has over GT4 is more colour. If you look at the two games, the colours are more vibrant and stand out more in GT3 than they do in 4. In the latter game, it looks and feels like the colour's drained a bit. For example, the grass on the Nurburgring is a very dull green whereas now in GT5 it's a much richer, deeper green, more colourful and overall it makes the track look and feel better.

Along with that, the game was overall simple and fun. The menus were ridiculously easy to navigate and find things, the Run & Settings option in the Home screen was great for quick and easy tuning of settings, the cars included on the whole were just the main versions, so the number of different equivalents of cars was down a great deal, plus the graphics actually still look great despite the game now being 9 years old. Plus the music in the game was good, with bands like Feeder, Supermoves and of course Daiki Kasho in the PAL version. Oh, and the intro looks much more realistic than GT4's in my opinion, it looks more believeable and is also more colourful.

I don't have a 'favourite' GT.

All GT's are equal.

However, if I really had to say, it would be GT4.

GT1 - the one that started it all. Original SSR11 and best in series AI are strong points. Weak points are biased and limited car/track selection. 7.25/10

GT2 - at least 100 car models, 10 courses, and 10 events unique to this installment. Terrible draw distance and pop-up issues nearly ruin an otherwise great game. 7.25/10

GT3 - the best menu and race structure by far of any GT. Also has the most consistent sound quality. Only weak points are limited car/track selection and slightly inconsistent AI. 8.75/10

GT4 - excellent track selection and soundtrack. Some events are too short and others are far too long *cough9HoursTsukubacough*. Other weak points are inconsistent sound between cars, terribly inconsistent AI, and a haphazard menu system. 8.0/10

My favourite GT is the GT4. The reason is because it has much more cars, courses and features like photoshoot, fuel etc. The physics may be off a bit from GT3, and even the graphics or some of you say colours. I really noticed that when driving around the Deep Forest or Trial Mountain the colour in the GT3 is more Vivid...

Why not GT3? The reason is because I just can't get along with the music, menu and car selection in the game. I seem to like the menu of GT4 more because it may looks a lot better but it's a bit difficult to navigate through the settings and it takes quite some time to change from settings to other places of the menu. GT4 has a lot more better music and menu sound effect than GT3 but GT4's car engine sound really let it all down. The excellent car and course selection in this game really get me more into this game unlike GT3 especially the presence of more BMW cars and the legendary Nordschleife. The AI seem to be a bit idiotic with GT4 but yeah... those are the only good and bad things that I can find between the two.

Both of the GT3 and GT4 are amazing piece of racing games. Both has its pros and cons but it seems the advantage is towards the GT4...

I am not going to say anything with GT, GT2 or GT5P because I never had much of experience with them...

A while ago I would have said GT2 followed by GT4 based on the quality of GT-mode only.

Now that I have a DF-GT wheel, GT3 is the GT game I play the most because the wheel works so well with it. The steering is locked at 270 degrees and it feels like a massive improvement over the 900 degree steering in GT4 and GT5P to me.

Personally, it would be GT4. I've played it so much since I got it on launch day and I still enjoy it (even though my game data became currupt after I tried to by a Ruf) :ouch:

GT2 would be a close second. I even had an old demo disc that I had before I got this game which was the reason why I started playing the GT series. I might have a look for it.

I would have to say that GT3 is my favourite Gran Turismo game. The strong points for me are the good a.i. (finally), the in-race music (Hendrix, Kravitz, and of course Judas Priest). The menu music is decent (Not as good as GT1, but way better than GT4). The drawbacks to this game are rare, but noticeable. For example, if you crash into a wall and the front end is in the air, on the replay you'll notice there is no chassis/underbody to the car. Also the fact you can break out of Seattle Circuit 2, though I've never done it. In my opinion GT4 is GT3 with more cars and tracks, but with worse graphics. This is why GT3 is the best game in the series, again it's my opinion.
