I'd like to think this is average. This is wireless, but we pay for 7. Wired is a bit faster, so when my roommates aren't here and I want to play games online thats what I do.

Probably. I hate to think how much he pays for that actually. Our company did a big price drop, we pay 59 for 80gig on ADSL. They now do a 49 plan with 80gig on ADSL2+, how fail. If only ADSL2+ was available here.

$60 for 20GB. However, my mother pays half of it, so 20GB @ 11Mbps (ADSL2+ connection) for $30/month isn't bad

With our TV company, we get 2MB broadband with a 10GB limit for free. Upgraded to 20MB with unlimited usage for £10, which is about $20NZ iirc.

Well, we could've had an unlimited data package for the same amount, but that plan has speed throttling between 9am and 2am (that'll be most of the day, then)... which kinda defeats the purpose of a high-speed connection

Basically every internet plan in Australia and New Zealand has a certain amount of download you can use per month. You can get rid of this cap buy paying a ridiculous amount for unlimited GB per month.

My internet plan for example has an 80gb limit per month. The company I am with are even more stupid by putting it into two sections for different times. It goes like this.

Peak (9am till 4am): 35gig
Off Peak (4am till 9am) 45gig (?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

It is the DUMBEST thing that has come to internet I think, all the hardcore downloading has to be done in 5 hours, it is ridiculous.

We pay 59AUD a month for this plan, there are many other plans and some are probably more worth it than this one but then it comes down to your area aswell.

We could get a 49AUD a month plan which is ADSL2+ consisting of 80gig. Or we could pay 59AUD a month and get 150gig ADSL2+. The reason why we cant is the area. We live in a relatively new area, about 3-5 years old, and for some reason all these rich people (not really us) living in the nice estates who could afford 1 trillion gig a month internet on ADSL 1 million cant get it because we cant get ADSL2+ here. EVERYONE is stuck on 1Mbs internet here. I dont know what is with that but anyway Australian internet sucks so yeah...

I got Fiber optics here now. It's sweet, I don't notice in normal surfing, but when I'm playing online, I never lag.

well you have to download the webpage to view it and you have to download what the other people are doing online so yes.

I've never really gone over 10GB cause the internet's so slow and drops out just about every night, i used to exceed my 5GB plan a fair bit though, it hurts with a 5GB limit downloading music or even just using youtube.

My internet totally sucks ass! I'm on orange ADSL, I live in an inner city area and my internet download speed is 200KBps, KILOBYTES! I am in a close proxitimity to the city center but I can only get 🤬 ADSL broadband and the phone line is absoultely 🤬 , my friend lives in a more suburban part of town, and he can get 10mbps fibre optic broadband for £10 a monh less than me! Oh yeah, and every time the phone rings my internet disconnects as well, its just absolutely 🤬 !

Oh yeah, and heres my test score, I don't know where 1.24mbps is coming from because most files I download are like 150kbps on average, absolute bull:censored: !!!

I can DL at about 700k on my 7Meg DSL so 150kb on a 1.5M line is about right, so not absolute bull.

Yeah, you are obviously reading the speed wrong. The 1.24mbs on that result is a different thing from the download speed. I have 1.3mbs on Speedtest but only download at 160kb/s tops, so that is about right. Don't whine about it, it's actually not that bad unless you like to download 500mb+ which takes about 1 hour per 500mb.

Remember, it measures in megabits, not megabytes So that's about accurate really
