your mobile phone?

i was looking for a new mobile phone but carnt really find a decent one with a good price. Polyphonic ringtones and colour screen arent really a concern So what do you guys have? at the moment i have a Motorola T190 but its draining batteries in like a day or two.

Well that, and at the end of the day it's just a friggin' phone. I have more than enough access to the internet and e-mail without needing it on a mobile phone.

I can't see the point of all this new fangled stuff. I just want a telephone that connects to my PDA for internet access. I'm not interested in some rotten camera that takes 91x87 pixel images. I wouldn't even use them as icons on my web site! Come back to me when you've got a megapixel.

I'm currently running a Nokia 6310i. It has Bluetooth, is tri-band, and the battery lasts about 10 days.

I'm using a nokia 3210 :embarrassed: Damn old beast! But who cares ... it does the job and it bought it for peanuts from a friend.

The battery on the thing has also been bothering me. It never lasts me more than 24 hours when I use it intensivly (not much phoning, lots of text messaging). I don't want to buy a new battery 'cause the new battery would be worth more money than the phone!

I've had a Nokia 8310 for a little over a year now.

Oh I agree - if I hadn't got a good deal on through my other half, I wouldn't have gotten it.

yeah, i dont see the point in all these phones with cameras and stuff, like you said 90x81 pixels or some stupid amount that when you make it bigger will look like crap. Yeah, my mum has a better phone than me and turns it on about once a fortnight!

 "Camera phone helps foil abduction attempt
By Associated Press, 8/1/2003 12:32
CLIFTON, N.J. (AP) A 15-year-old boy foiled an apparent abduction attempt when he pulled out his cell phone camera and snapped photos of a man trying to lure him into a car and the vehicle's license plate, police said.
The teen gave the evidence to police, who arrested a suspect the next day.
''It's surprising the kid had the presence of mind to use the technology under duress,'' Detective Capt. Robert Rowan told The Record of Bergen County.
A spokeswoman for Sprint, whose phone the boy used, said she had never heard of someone using the new technology to catch a criminal.

Ironically, two people were charged with contempt of court in the UK last week after they used a camera phone to photograph a defendent standing trial.

What goes around comes around I guess...

I have one of the smaller Nokia phones(6600series?). I actually liked my old Nokia phone a lot better. The newer phone, I've had it about a year now, is a lot harder for me to hold onto because it's so small.
But it does have more features and such. As has already been said, a phone is pretty much a phone. I just use it to tell the wife that I'm en route home, Or I'm having car trouble. The actual reason I got a phone is that I usually drive one of the older cars around here, and feel that I'm more likely to have "mechanical" than her. And I hate relying on the kindness of strangers to help me, though I've been help out by several very nice people.
I'd much rather call somebody that I know, and may not have to kill, to protect myself during the course of my rescue.

We got ours free with programs. We have two Nokia's, then my dad has a Motorolla... For some reason he likes those clam-shell phones....

I've got a Motorola i95cl with Nextel, and I love it. Just about everybody around here, including all of my friends, depend on Nextel's "Direct Connect" walkie-talkie service, and it is an absolute life saver. I don't know what I did without it! And, now that it's gone nationwide, you can talk to anyone on it no matter where they are.

Uh, about that 'not know what you would've done without it...' thing....

What about before you had a computer? Before you got your first car?

Well, I don't know, those things are other objects which make my life easier, more convenient, and more fun, similar to my cell phone. It's just an expression I used trying to convey how handy and useful that particular feature is, and how often I use it. Don't take it quite so literally. :P

i am currently using the Motorola V 60i. nice phone..

Nextel IS the best. No doupt about it. But fairly expensive. It's made as a company phone, and as a company phone, I think it fulfills it's requirements and more. I mean just look at the veriety of different plans and the options they provide. You can't go wrong with Nextel. But if you were looking for an everyday phone, you might not want to go with Nextel, because some of their better plan will cost you around the 50's range. Some of their better phones are pretty large in size too. (Which I think would be just as well being a company phone, so the employes don't look them.) Good choice Jordan. ;)

Oh, and Cingular sucks. No offense guys, but it's true. My mom and my dad had both used (past tense ;) ) Cingular in the past. It was terrible and it gave us the worst time ever. the slightest interference and you would loose reception. I could never reach any of them and would be sent to their voice message. When they look at their missed calls, numbers willa ppear that had never called them. It's just terrible. If you're just choosing your phone, save yourself the trouble and skip on Cingular. Don't be fooled by their flashy phones either. That's how they suck in most consumers.

Anyway, back on topic. THis is my phone. The Samsung SPH-N400:

I think it suites me well. It's thin enough to be moved around easily but large anough to be handled. One of it's more handy options would be it's speaker phone. I use it a lot, and I wouldn't be able to imagine a phone without it. In the car.. anywhere... I don't have any of the options you have to pay for because frankly I don't need to access the web, etc. Sprint is alright too, I find it better than At&T. Any other good providers you guys know of?

Well I did end up getting this phone.

I should take my own picture, but I can't be bothered.

I have a nokia 3330 and an Ericson T68i, which is broken. Once the T68i gets fixed i'm ditching my 3330.

I just got a Nokia 3600 from Cingular. It has a color screen, a VGA camera, Bluetooth, and it runs on the Symbian OS.

My mate has one of those, they are pretty cool. You can even record video on it. It also has a memory stick on it doesn't it? well like the ones that you find in digital cameras.

I was thinking of buying a gizmoed phone, but then I thought 'hell i'm not going to use all those features on it anyway' so I settled for a normal one.
