if we do get cockpit i dont think it will be generic unless its just the black border psp thing. if theres a dash then i dont think they will be 800 same interior dashes in different cars....would be too weird

When i say generic i mean if you drive a skyline it will share the same interiors of the other skyline not its real individual interior like the premium cars

I wonder why OPM said all cars including standard will have cockpit view , I mean the IRL thing was wrong and now this soo much for posting facts.

For you who still think standard cars will have cockpit view, look at this.

Premium, we can see the interiors through the carglass.

Standard, carglass is about as black as my assh*le, clearly they won't have cockpit view.

But standard car's look great outside so am happy!!!👍

Wait a minite, Didnt PD Make Really High quality 3d models for GT4 on the computer, Then Seriously downgraded them to put into GT4 so it could keep a steady frame rate? If so,

The Standard Cars we have been seeing are the original High Quality models, I'm guessing kazunori knew he was going to use them for GT5 "Smoothe mooth"

Actually In some parts of GT4 you can see the very high quality models of the cars(Just in ps2 engine quality)
Like coasta di amfali, Take any car on to it and the Reflections Are that of PS3 reflections, Tail lights and headlights reflect in real time, Chrome Looks like Chrome, Textures on the car's are highly detailed, And the lighting look's almost like prolouge,
So standard car's are the High quality PreGT4 models, But now, They are brought up to PS3 Level, Increased Polys, Better textures, GT5 lighting engine, and reflections,

For Standard Cars they look damn good.

Kaz redid every car for GT5, all the whinny babies complaining about interior view will eat their words. There's no reason to NOT have one in 80% of the cars. Whether it be detailed or not. What's the point in complaining? "I wan't GT5 not GT4.5" Then don't buy the damn game! Why come here and complain? You're not helping Kaz any by complaining. I'm pretty sure he has all the cars down and ready to go by now. The video's were seeing are only demos and were sitting here making final judgements? Come on now. Weve got more than 5 months to go before it releases. Kaz has said in interviews that he'll make the graphics even better for the launch. Even on the Honda twitter he said he's still working on the HSV Super GT car. Why the panic? Put your trust in Kaz and PD, I'm sure they'll come through for us like usual. I can't see anyone saying they'll honestly won't purchase GT5 if you're on this board. Unless you're just here to troll your lameness or you're another game's fanboy.

Why complain? Let's see... Maybe because they led us to believe all cars would have meticulously modeled interiors and we suddenly found out 80% of them have none? Don't you think we should be pissed for being played for fools? Instead you say we should bow our heads and accept whatever? Yeah, right... The game is great and I'm buying it day one either way, but if you think we should just let them get away with such an outrageous act you must be out of your mind.

I seriously hope this Guffaluff guy and Kotaku are right. Then they are only guilty for having the most confusing PR I've ever seen, and that I can live with.

Decision about premium and standard car would have been taken long time back. It is same as before. They never said standards cars won't have interior they only said it will be less. cockpit is there I think. I hope gear shift animations are also included :nervous:

You know what i was thinking i am very pleased an excited about GT5! I was thinking to myself my brother and I play GT4 faithfully. When you think about the 800 cars we are getting (standard cars) they are going to run on the PS3 system which makes them look updated to other racing games, they will have visual and mechanical damage, and run on the Physics of GT5. This is like a PUMPED up GT4!! IMO i think PD gave us 2 games in 1. With a chance and go back, and conquer GT4 again in high def glory with great new additions. Also with the new GT5 with the new and great features and the state of the art graphics! I also belive GT5 will have DLC. In the end thank you Kaz and your staff for working hard on giving us a great game we can play for years!

why do we can't complain? Stop whining about people that are complaining. we pay alot of money for consoles & games. so we can complain if the game not worht the money or your own intrest. Do you think PD will complain when you pay for a game thats crap?don't get me wrong, I am sure GT5 would be one of the best racing games. but becaus of the great GT games in the past & becaus its our favorit game. or hopes are high. and we want the perfect game. sadly perfection is not the same for everyone...

I think Kaz has done a great job unless you Gt5 on like 4 or 5 discs there would be no possible way to have all cars with fully modled interiors i personally dont mind have you seen the other features to this game like the track editing and so on GT5 will be a great game

While you are certainly right, I think the thing is just that some of us would've prefered it if PD dropped some of the more gimmicky features (like kartiing and the track editor for me) and the 800 standard cars and added another 50 premium cars and 5 tracks...

Im Ok if thats Completely true, but I Dont believe it... If they had at least worked on Standard Models to Get them to a Semi-Premium Levels( Without Interior) why would those models still be one piece models with Textured Panel gaps and details? not even the windows frames are there, its just a texture.:guilty:

But Anyways, Im kinda happy with the 200 Premiums. 👍

As said elsewhere by someone, GT4 cars are downscaled models from the same models that GT5 standard cars are based on. ;)

I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief right now...somebody other than me actually notices the same old 1 piece GT4-esque car models.

Yeah, the problem right now with GT5 is that they kept touting the 1000 car number. So we were lead to believe that all cars would have at least somewhat similar model quality, not 80% of them being last-gen models. 200 premium cars is a good number, more than either of the previous GTs that were the first on PS1 and PS2 (GT1 and GT3). But after the 1,000 car number being thrown around for a long time now, 200 seems like such a small number. They should not have ever marketed GT5 as a game with 1,000 cars. It's a game with 200 cars, and 800 throwback cars.

Exactly, and what brings me down, Really Makes me sad is those 800 Models wont be as Customizable as the other 200 because they dont have Interchangeable Parts...Sadly.

Oh and, as a Proof that those 800 Models are JUST GT4 Models:

I dunno... I think the whole "higher res GT4 models" makes sense, but then looking at that picture I don't see much where just filling out the 3d model with extra vertexes wouldn't get the exactly same results...

Honestly for me the fact that I CAN'T if they are just touched up GT4 models or not speaks volumes...

**** it's worse than I thought. What the hell? It's the same model. It's not improved at all. It's not even smoothed. And they can do that with a push of a button in any decent 3D modeling software. Come on.

I really hope it's some kind of freak incident or whatever. Or we are really getting GT4 photo mode models in GT5. And that's, well, ridiculous.

That is something I've also been saying. Paying close attention to the trailer will reveal that the Standard Cars are just copy-pasted from GT4, the only thing new is the PS3 lighting and refections (which unfortunately due to the somewhat low polygon count of the cars are sort of strange). They look terrible compared to GT5's premium cars. In a race, I can only imagine how strange it will look to see a premium beauty fly by, making you go "WOW!" and then followed by a standard car, making you go "Huh? WTH?". They will look unbalanced together, that's what makes me thing the standard cars are a bit of a mistake.

What really kills me is that the textures look so bad still... I mean you go the new lighting engine and higher screen resolution at least helping with the shiny pretty to cover up the ugly chunky, give us some nice textures, that's seriously gotta take almost not time at all!

I am interested once this game comes out if someone will be able to rip out the data eliments and compare them to the GT4 counterparts in any meaningful way...

That stuck out for me too... the new cars reflections even close up seem spectacular... the reflections on the standard cars look really odd and zig zaggy... literally like bleamcast or some emulator came along and uppped the res so you didn't have the pixelization hiding the ugly anymore...

Yep, I've been saying that for days now. The models themselves are NOT improved significantly. They just look better because they're being displayed in a better graphics engine with better lighting and *maybe* better textures.

How long before the "OMG THATS GT4 PHOTOMODE" complaints

Yeah but lets not kid ourselves. Even GT4 photomode models aren't all that different from the regular ones. The comparisons are still legit, and theres no way that a GT4 photomode model should look anything close to a GT5 car. So ridiculous.

My thoughts EXACTLY, and is why the cars MUST be separated via a different game mode or race restrictions.

At least this Issue Got Attention, If they just added more Polygons by smoothing the whole Model and maybe Separating Panels, at least on Cars that should be customizable...

Bot nope, Those are just the same GT4 Photomode Models, nothing else.

I would definately recomend that. Another detail is, imagine a crash with a premium and standard car. The premium car would be torn to shreads, losing doors, hood, bumpers etc... and the standard car... just a scratch. I'm sure the performance damage would affect both cars but how weird would that crash look and poor premium car.
