Well I guess we have to agree to disagree then...
I feel it is very important to attribute an action to a group if that group is known for such an action.
I will mention no one seemed to have a problem with the "emo" thread...
To simply say "each person you heard say that is lying" with no further explanation carries little weight or meaning. Similar to saying "the 6 darksinned people were more likely to have heart disease" wihtout specifying that there is a group trait responsible and not just some obvservation that I am trying to fob off.
That you disagree is unfortunately beside the point.
The AUP is quite clear on this (and I have quoted it), and by placing people in groups (particularly if they do not agree with 'your' grouping) is a fasttrack to arguments and disagreement.
Argue the point, don't attack the person. The term in question 'fan-boy' has just about zero positive aspects to it and is most commonly used as a term of derision and abuse.
If you unable or unwilling to see the difference between that and the 'emo' thread (or any other non-derogatory group description), then I strongly suggest you lay off posting for a while.
Please be aware this is not a point open for debate and/or discussion and the staff are in agreement over this matter.
