Hi all!

shift2U is so enthralling, but on the same time so frustrating.

In 3 hours of play the game froze 7 times. I am obviously not very bright, because if your TV, Microwave, Fridge, Phone or any other appliance or utility gave you this much trouble you'd be binning it or asking for you money back!

what do you think?

Is it happening when you use really fast cars,like the Works?

I know if i use a car that is fast on Mt. Panorama or the Ring i get an occasional freeze.

It freezes all the time, EA told me to delete the game data file and reinstall, this did nothing, except ad anger to the mix; as starting from scratch was out of the question.

It has frozen/locked up more for me since the new patch - always when trying to load a race.

You don't have to start over if you delete the game data. Just DO NOT delete the gamesave by accident.

I've never had it freeze... Xbox + fanatec.

What causes it?
Ps3/xbox/pc, wheel/pad, which wheel, what race, what car etc

The only freeze I've seen reports for are fast speeds, seems mainly at the ring.

Can't be as bad as the time when my wheel some how flew off on the last lap of the last corner. All that work for nothing, darn mount panaroma. The only time I saw mine freeze was when I was online on the loading screen. I'm Xbox though.

I'm having freezes at various tracks with various cars but it only seems to happen during a big crash with multiple cars.

This game alone has frozen more than 20 times more my PS3 than all my other games put together and Shift 1 use to freeze a bit too (loading races).... just now I had a freeze in laguna seca with a cayman works

I'm not fond if works cars. But the only one that freezes my PS3 is the 918 Spyder at Pergusa during the night.

Still have to try it after patch but I'm I'm no hurry. It's the only crash I remember and I could reproduce it every time

secondly i am sorry if I put this in the wrong place! but I have an excuse, im old. Im new to this.

I read the heading new thread, so you can guess what happened from there!

Anyway thank you all again for your response; I seems im not robinson crusoe when it comes to the freeze.

Ive got the PC version and i have experienced a couple of freeze/crashes. At first, i thought it was related to my Overclocked CPU (Although everything else including CoD, F1 2010, Crysis work ok). Reading this topic makes me think twice about it being a PC related issue. Ive currently got v1.01 installed, not sure if theres any other newer patches out yet...

Hi NO! the problem is code based, poor coding but hype has it in yours, mine and thousands of others lounge rooms.

But dont get me wrong I Love the challenge (the Game), and the gamble of seeing if I can make a round of a circuit with a fast car!

I have pestered EA for over a month, with little result; they say the fix is underway (sure: nudge nudge wink wink)

While I love to play this, it makes me think hard about purchasing DIRT3, NO its not the money, when you pay for a game, or anything that comes from a retail shop, you expect it to work.

Imagine if your PC froze constantly due to inconsistencies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you like i, would be more than disappointed!

when they fix it; and i hope its soon, I hope you get some fine entertainment.

Yes my favorite track, all four aspects, but alas and alack, I have to keep the cars under 1800 pts.
