"Zombies in the Bible"

norm-4a8d04af19c9c-1408+%282007%29.jpeg

Zechariah 14:12
And the LORD will send a plague on all the nations that fought against Jerusalem. Their people will become like walking corpses, their flesh rotting away. Their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.
Zechariah 14:13
On that day they will be terrified, stricken by the LORD with great panic. They will fight their neighbors hand to hand.

There are several other biblical passages that allude to a plague that will decimate mankind in the end times.

Many people take the bible as the truth, and also see it as a book of prophecy. Could we have received warning of the impending rising of the undead from antiquity? We don’t have to go far to rationalize this. Prophets in ancient times may have seen exactly what happened, but didn’t understand the science behind it to describe it accurately. They may have seen the biological cause engineered in a lab and unleashed upon the world, but could only use simple words to describe it.

There are currently so many end times prophecies that it can make your head spin. Almost all of them don’t point to an exact cause of the apocalypse, but the bible seems to point to the undead several times

Revelation 11:6
These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

R
evelation 11:8
Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

Revelation 11:11

But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them.

Ezekiel 37:10

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet–a vast army.

The bible is rife with resurrection, the dead coming to life, and stories and illiterations to the end of times. Perhaps, the plague God uses to wipe the earth clean is a plague of Zombies. You can also point to end times prophecy references of Locusts and say that zombies could also be considered as a locust, devouring all life. At this point, all we can do is speculate and prepare. We don’t know how or when the world will end, but we can be ready if it is survivable.

***Notes***
The end of the world can be described several ways:
1. A literal end, where the entire world is destroyed.
2. An end to the way the whole world sees itself.
3. A massive culling of the world’s population so that it is more in balance.
4. A massive culling of the world’s population so that it can be enslaved by those in power. (See Conspiracy)

I really doubt the use of zombies as a plague... And with those descriptions, there might be something close to a zombie-like being, but zombies really aren't real.

And your end "list" is kind of ridiculous. I can guarantee the end times will not be survivable. God will destroy the earth along with everything in it. I can't really go into major detail, but ask any true Christian and they'll say the same. At the end of time, you're either staying with God or Satan. Not to be harsh on non-Believers, but it's true.

So zombies aren't real but stuff in the bible is?

Yep and they say this time God will cleanse the earth with fire...and whats the best way to kill zombies(besides head shots)??

And please people, don't use this post just to attack Christianity and the Bible. Let people have religious freedom.

Providing they do it within the bounds of the Acceptable Use Policy, we have no issue with anyone questioning any form of religion (including none) or philosophy.

Religious freedom doesn't mean your particular religion is immune from scrutiny. It merely means that people are free to believe in what they wish.

That said, I have no clue what the point of this thread actually is...

To warn us about the impending zombies. I think this is justification for the Pick Your Car for the Zombie Apocalypse in the Cars in General sub forum.

Don't even try to attack Christianity. That question is like asking if your brain is real!

Please no, not a raving christian against everyone else argument, take it somewhere else where we CAN'T SEE IT

Anyway, my theories on religion are that if there was a god, it would most likely not be a human, since god "controls" everything in the world. It would be more of a animal that doesn't exist (note implying god doesn't exist, because there is always a chance, amything's possible)

Also, my preferred theory. Aliens are probably our "gods", we are mutants from their species, as are all animals on this planet. Aliens put us here to get rid of us while they lived many galaxies away. Or they put us here as mutants to see how they would survive here compared to their homeland.

Yeah, I did sadly join this :nervous: :(

NOTE TO SELF: Don't get joined in these religious wars. Because I don't believe in it

...but is there any proof that anything in said book really happened? No.

Then again, I'm a geek. So I'm sure that a zombie invasion might happen. Not because of something within that book, tho.

Well hopefully to stop any arguments, what will questioning it do? I won't change my mind about Christianity, so argument is a futile action.

Is this from the Old Testament?

I'm not too fond of the New Testament. The Old is a much better read.

Well, that's the problem with the Bible. It's purely interpretative and therefore, imprecise.

actually you might wanna do some reserch the bible has never been wrong about anything. There is actual proof of Jesus and no he is not a zombie

I'm a christian and all but, I've always wondered, what if The Bible was just a really good book that some people took a bit too seriously?

you should probably take another look and read through the bible again im on a website with other christian gamers hardcorechristiangamers check it out
and when you say you are a christian do yo mean that you go to church or that you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again on the third day.

Zombies are cooler than God/Jesus, so I think i'll believe in them instead. Plus, if a zombie plague does come, it makes me look all buddy-buddy with them - we can all creep around together looking for some delicious braaaaiiiiinnnnssss.

So... is it "an eye for an eye" or "turn the other cheek"?

Because they are both in the same Bible, you know.

The Bible that decrees death to all non-believers on one hand, then preaches about the "Good Samaritan" on the other.

Perhaps you haven't had a good read-through of the Bible yourself?

And before this turns into another Bible debate thread, this thread is about whether or not there are Zombies in the Bible. Let's keep the focus there, ayt?

I believe Jesus died for our sins and so on.

Whether the Bible mentions Zombies or not... It's a book that has been written by humans, has been transalted by humans and is being printed by humans. And a lot of those who are involved with it aren't related to the original events in any way, shape or form. And since humans are making mistakes (lots of them) anyways, I won't care much about whether it mentions zombies or not.

So, it can state that the world will end due to zombies, or ponies or will continue spinning forever. I won't care much, either way.

I don't really believe anything in the Bible either...not a Christian follower to be honest, and if the stuff in the bible was possible then...

...why can't we do it today? (In some cases, anyway.)

Did Jesus come back to life after dying?

Yes.

Sounds like a Zombie to me.

Where's my shotgun?
