Summer has reared its head once more to kick off a new season in Forza Horizon 4. We also fly the green flag to begin Series 27 and the second year anniversary celebrations.
A new quartet of cars make up the prizes for completing the Festival Playlist and the latest season to 50% and 80%. There’s also a special Nissan 370Z up for grabs this week.
Let’s look at what Summer has to offer.
370 Reasons to Get Sideways
Hypercars form the seasonal completion prizes this week, with two of the most extreme machines ever created.
First up is the Rimac Concept Two. Ripping up the traditional hypercar rulebook, the Concept Two ushers in an era of all-electric hypercars. With four electric motors, the Rimac develops a ludicrous 1,887hp, making it one of the most powerful road cars ever. The instant electric torque also means the Rimac will outgun anything in a drag race.
On the more traditional end, but no less extreme, is the Apollo Intensa Emozione. Aimed to echo the spirit of past GT1 racers, the Apollo is designed as a hardcore track day monster. Under all the slashes in the styling lies a 6.3-liter V12 that kicks out 780hp. With immense downforce, the Apollo will carve through corners with ease.
Playlist completion prizes throughout Series 27 are the 2018 Renault Megane R.S. and the 2018 ATS GT. Prizes for the seasonal championships include the 1989 Toyota MR2 and the 2017 Ford Fiesta RS WRC.
The biggest prize this week comes from the 2018 Nissan 370Z #64 Formula Drift racer. Campaigned by Chris Forsberg, this 370Z has been given a complete workover. Under the hood sits a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 that has been boosted to produce 1,015hp, and enough torque to wreck its rear tires in moments.
To get the 370Z, you’ll need to win the “Nissan Cup” championship.
A returning Showcase Remix helps kick off Summer. “Motocross Purposes” will have you racing through the forest in an Ariel Nomad against a team of dirt bikes.
Series 27’s first Photo Challenge will need some co-operation. #FriendsInHighPlaces will need to to find another player (or a Drivatar) and take a picture with the Glen Rannoch Mast.

Forzathon Events
Forzathon takes the spotlight to a beloved Italian marque this week: Abarth. Climb into any car with that scorpion badge to get started.
Next, show the true pace of your Abarth by hitting a top speed of 125mph. Some tuning may be required depending on which Abarth you choose. Afterwards, spread your wings and earn a total of 9 stars from Danger Signs.
Finally, hit the streets for one last test and win 2 Street Scene events to finish up this week.
Forzathon Shop
Big power and big speed are the main course for the shop this week. Out in front is the 2006 Koenigsegg CCX.
Intended to replace the CCR, the CCX was supposed to be easier to drive than before. The 4.7-liter, twin-supercharged V8 quashes any hopes about the CCX being better to handle. With 806hp being sent to the rear wheels, you’ll be grateful for that rear spoiler to push the back tires into the road.
At 600 Forzathon points, the CCX is expensive, but if you want a car to upset the establishment, then this Swedish beast will be up to the job.
One of the rarest cars in the whole of FH4 is the 2009 Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series Forza Edition. The standard SL65 Black sits as the most powerful Mercedes AMG road car ever, with a 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 delivering an almost demomic 661hp, and so much torque that Mercedes had to limit the engine from producing more to protect the transmission. This Forza Edition also gains a Drift Skills boost for those who want to get sideways.
At 350FP, the SL65 is a relatively cheap way to grab a very rare car, so get one while you can.
Novelty items this week are the Modern Race Suit Blue and the “Ode To Joy” horn.
