Forza Horizon 5 “Race Off” Series enters its third week today, with more new challenges and events for players to tackle over the next seven days.
The central theme for the series is the “Horizon Race Off”, comprising a part-competitive, part-cooperative challenge that runs across the four weeks, with players attempting to win global rewards for the whole community.
You’ll be faced with the choice — although not really — of Asphalt or Offroad. Competing in events of each type fills up a dynamic scoreboard, and reaching 100% gifts an appropriate prize car to every player. However you won’t miss out on one or the other, as everyone will receive both awards if (or indeed when) both bars top out.
A new addition for this Series, the 32nd in the game’s life so far, is the Race-Off Festival Site. This location appears in a different spot on the map in each of the four weeks, acting like a hub for the Series and showing the progress meters.
With two prize cars available for the Race Off alongside the regular one for each season at 20pt, the total of new cars this Series is six. Naturally there’s an Evolving World Accolade for grabbing them all too.

Series 32: Horizon Race Off
The two Race-Off reward cars add to the two regular Series rewards which are again returning vehicles from previous Series — although rare items due to their lack of availability elsewhere.
For 80pt you can add the Audi Sport Quattro S1 to your collection. This Group B legend sports a wild engine stuffed into a spaceframe chassis and a unique, exotic body that bears only passing similarity to existing Audi models — except the 200 required production examples for homologation.
160pt earns you the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante, which proves that less is more if you already have as much “more” as you can get. This is achieved by lopping the roof off the top-tier Performante coupe for wind-in-the-hair (or indeed scalp) joy on top of the already excellent recipe.
For the Race-Off you’ll score two fast Fords appropriate to their respective surfaces. Offroad completion is nearest the goal at the moment, and the prize there is the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R. Asphalt isn’t far behind, and awards a 2024 Ford Mustang GT.
Series 32 Winter/Dry Season Rewards
Hitting 20 points this season will bring a car many American Forza players have been requesting since the first one: the 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra.
This was the last car to bear the name to date, and was itself produced towards the end of the fourth-generation SN95. Sporting numerous upgrades over the previous Cobra model, the “Terminator” (as code-named by Ford’s Special Vehicles Team) produced a reportedly under-rated 390hp.
At 40 points you’ll have another chance to pick up something more suited to the off-road section of this month’s theme with the Toyota 4Runner.
It’s not the most powerful machine, even if it does bear the name of Toyota’s specialist tuning branch TRD. That’s because the focus here was on survival, with beefed-up suspension and body protection.
Winter will run until 1430UTC on Thursday April 18, with Series 32 continuing for another week until the same time on Thursday April 25.
Series 32 Winter Playlist: Forzathon Events
There’s another duo in the Forzathon Weekly Challenge this week. You’ll need to own and drive either the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X ’08 or the Nissan Silvia Spec R ’00 to get Innovation or Ambition? underway — and you can swap between them as you wish thereafter.
It’s a relatively gentle set of challenges this week. Firstly reach 100mph in either car, then take a photograph of whichever one you choose. Lastly, score six Stars at any Danger Sign in either; the whole process could take you as little as 30 seconds.
Completing the “challenges” will earn you five Playlist points and 80 Forzathon Points.
Weekly Challenge: Innovation or Ambition?
- Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X ’08 or Nissan Silvia Spec R ’00
- Chapter 1: Own and drive either the Lancer Evo X or Silvia Spec R
- Chapter 2: Reach a speed of 100mph in either car

- Chapter 4: Earn six Stars at any Danger Sign in either car

Your seven Daily Challenges arrive at the usual pace — one challenge per day, unlocking at 1430 UTC — with seven full days to grab the point for each one.
Naturally the new Race-Off Festival Site is first up. Head to the new location at Bajio Trail — near Los Jardines and the start of the In Rain, Wind, or Shine seasonal this week — and bank 10,000 Skill Score by any means you wish to complete Banking Points.
You’ll be choosing One or the Other next, as you head out to win either a Dirt race or a Road race — and you may as well combine this with the Seasonals.
Get Dusting Off the Lens after that, taking a photo of your car at the Horizon Baja Outpost. Again, this could be combined with the Forzathon Weekly above.
Earn two stars at the Festival Speed Zone in any Extreme Track Toy next in a Celebration of Speed.
Follow that up by getting a New High Score and complete Round 3 of any Horizon Arcade theme.
You’ll be Generous Gifting after that, by sending a Gift Drop to any other player.
Finally take a Little Road Trip and drive five miles (8km) in any Buggy.

Series 32 Winter Playlist: Season Events
It’s another short, six-event list on the Horizon Solo section this week, as the four Seasonal Championships — one each from Cross Country, Dirt, Road, and Street — take up the bulk of the points. There’s a single PR Stunt and an EventLab to add a little variety.
Again, the PR Stunt — the Malpais Trailblazer — won’t be too tricky, as it’s open to any S2 Class (901-998PI) vehicle and below. Just get from the start to the finish with 20s or more remaining to take two points and a Super Wheelspin.
This week’s EventLab, Sneezin Dragon Circuit, is a compact city course on EventLab Island. You’ll need a C Class (501-600PI) Retro Hot Hatch for a six-lap race against the AI. Take victory to earn your three points and a MINI Countryman.
That leaves the four Seasonal Championship events. Each is a three-race championship against “Highly Skilled” AI, with completion counting towards the Race Off goals. You’ll need to top the points table at the end of the three races to claim five points and the bonus rewards.
This week’s Asphalt events are the Old-School Cool street race, for S1 Class (801-900PI) Retro Supercars, and Decade in the Making for S1 Class (801-900PI) cars from the 2010s. Victory will earn you a BMW M3 ’08 and a Ford Transit SuperSport respectively.
For Offroad racers there’s the Play of the Game cross country challenge for B Class (601-700PI) cars from Germany, and In Rain, Wind, or Shine for A Class (701-800PI) cars in the “All-Weather Warriors” hopper. Taking series wins will earn you the Infiniti Q60 and Volkswagen Golf R ’14.

There’s just one full Multiplayer event this week, requiring either an Xbox Core subscription or a PC — on which it’s free — in order to take part.
Naturally that’s The Trial, which remains a permanent fixture. This team challenge pits a group of up to six human players against a team of six “Unbeatable” AI in a best-of-three event.
As is the theme for the series, winning requires co-operation. You’ll need to work as a team to outscore the AI team, as every position counts towards the scores: each driver on each team gets 100pt for each driver they beat on the other team, but nothing for beating their own team-mates.
This means that the best tactic is to hinder the AI as you go, to slow them up and allow your human team-mates to pass — even defending them if possible. Scurrying off at the front is of little use if you’re followed home by three of the AI.
For this week it’s a street racing event requiring A Class (701-800PI) Super Saloons, and there’s some walled-in city courses involved so take care around your team mates. Win overall to earn ten points and a MINI JCW Buggy.
The Trial: Smooth Cruising
- Car: A Class, Super Saloon
- Location: Guanajuato
- Challenge: Win the Championship
- Reward: 10 points, MINI JCW Buggy
Series 32 Winter Playlist: Challenges
There’s four challenges up this week, with one multiplayer event which requires an Xbox Core subscription unless you play on PC.
That’s a relatively gentle Horizon Open challenge, Monster v. Monster. You’ll just need to compete in any Horizon Open Custom Race, using any Hypercar or Rally Monster vehicle. That’ll score you two points and the playlist track “Ingrid is a Hybrid”.
Another Collectibles prop awaits this week, but it’s pretty similar to last week. You’ll need to hunt around the golf course at Club de Opala for the Asphalt Helmet Pinata and smash ten to complete the On Par challenge. You’ll earn three points and, appropriately, a Pinata Pop horn.
For the Photo Challenge this week you’ll need to get a #HomeRun. Take any Sports Utility Heroes car to the baseball stadium in Guanajuato — next to the Bola Ocho circuit start point — and photograph it to earn two points and an Apex Predators hoodie.
A third Treasure Hunt in a row sees you smashing up billboards. The clue for Buick Skills doesn’t entirely tell you the requirements, but if you start doing what you think is right you’ll complete it before too long. You actually need to score five Skillboard skills, from the aforementioned, rather than just smashing five.
That rewards you with the hint, which shows that the Treasure Chest is over at the Horizon Rush outpost, and in fact it’s right next to the Base Jump Danger Sign. Smash it to earn three points and 100FP.

Series 32 Winter Playlist: Monthly Events
If you haven’t yet finished them, there’s still two more weeks to get the Monthly Events completed. They appear as part of all four seasons, each awarding a point to each season whenever you get round to them.
Although you’ll be paired with a ghost on the specific course like in Rivals, you don’t actually need to best them. Simply setting a clean run in the provided car — so no hitting solid objects, no missing checkpoints, and definitely no use of Rewind — is enough.
Both challenges this month feature one of the Race-Off reward cars. That’s the Ford F-150 Raptor R at the River Scramble dirt racing circuit and the Mustang GT at the Vista del Mar point-to-point.
Monthly Rivals: Plaza Circuit
- Cars: Lotus Esprit V8 (provided)
- Location: Guanajuato

Series 32 Winter Bonus DLC Events
The two DLC expansion packs each contains a further two events, offering seven additional points in each location — from a two-point PR Stunt and a five-point Seasonal Championship — for a total of 14.
As with the main map, the PR Stunts are open to any S2 Class (901-998PI) vehicles and below, and not overly tricky. The Horizon Nexus Drift Zone in Hot Wheels has a gentle 138,000pt target, although the 400m leap at the La Cantera Danger Sign in Sierra Nueva has its foibles. Watch out for the bump before take-off — minimize speed there and acceleration afterwards — and aim right down the middle.
The Rally Adventure Seasonal Championship, Touring Through Dirt, requires S1 Class (801-900PI) Super GT cars and awards a 1940 Ford Coupe. It’s S1 Class (801-900PI) Ford models in Hot Wheels Fire and Ice, with a RAM Power Wagon reward.
Hot Wheels Drift Zone: Horizon Nexus

- Location: Hot Wheels Nexus

Series 32 Winter Forzathon Shop
British and brutish is how the Forzathon Shop likes it this week, with two crazy cars from the last Festival hosts.
Leading the way is the Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro, which answers a question nobody ever asked: what if we made our track-only toy even more of… that?
Rarely, the answer doesn’t include more power, with the seven-liter V12 remaining at just the 820hp. However the aerodynamics are turned up from the GT3 levels of the Vulcan by about 30%, with an improved center of pressure to give more front-end grip.
The numbers seem almost small next to the second choice, TVR’s monster Cerbera Speed 12. Its 7.7-liter V12 was reputedly so powerful it broke a dyno calibrated to 1000hp, and after one road test the company’s owner all-but refused to sell it — resulting in just one full road-going example ever.
As usual, both cars also appear in the Autoshow. The Vulcan is 2,000,000cr, against this week’s 700FP, while the TVR is 500,000cr compared to 300FP.
This week’s other store items are the Apex Predators Cap, Grit Reapers Helmet, and Quick Draw Emote at 75FP each. You can also collect a Wheelspin and Super Wheelspin at their usual 60FP and 150FP respectively.
