Forza Horizon 5 Season Change: Decaffeinated

The second season of the Forza Horizon 5 Cars & Coffee is now underway, with more coffee-themed shenanigans and a fresh set of challenges and rewards for the week.

A new location has been added to the map, acting as a meet-up and photography location as well as a specific place for some of the month’s events. The “Cars & Coffee Shop” is located at the bottom of the main autopista where the slightly baffling traffic circle sits.

Another all-new car is available for 20pt in this season, and you’ll likely hit the 80pt required to score the new vehicle awarded for Series progress. There’s also a new DLC pack centering on JDM vehicles, two of which also feature as tasters in Monthly Rivals.

Table of Contents

Series 36: Horizon Cars & Coffee

There’s a total of 300pt available this series, with 75pt available per season, if you have all of the DLC packs (56pt in total) and access to online multiplayer through Xbox Game Pass Core (or play on PC, where this is not a requirement).

Scoring 80pt across the Series will reward you with the new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato ’18, while the DeBerti Ford Mustang is available again as a prize for 160pt in total.

Series 36 Autumn/Storm Season Rewards

Collecting 20 points across this season’s challenges will gift you the new Volkswagen SP-2, while the Porsche 356C Emory restomod is available again as a 40pt reward.

Autumn will run until 1430UTC on Thursday August 1, while Series 36 as a whole runs until the same time on Thursday August 15.

Series 36 Autumn Playlist: Forzathon Events

This week’s Forzathon Weekly Challenge centers on the Koenigsegg CC8S, while there’s the usual point for each of the seven Daily Challenges — for which a new one unlocks each day at 1430 UTC.

You’ll need to earn a combination skill for the Weekly Challenge, with “Show-Off” requiring a Pass (for overtaking) during a Drift Skill. Also be aware of the requirement for a Dirt Scramble race, on a dirt circuit rather than a point-to-point, for the final Daily. Otherwise the challenges are straightforward.

Series 36 Autumn Playlist: Season Events

You can rack up all 40 points in just the Season Events this week, though that will require access to online multiplayer for the ten-point, team-based “The Trial” event. For this you’ll need to work with five assigned human players to hit the best team score you can and beat “Unbeatable” AI over a best-of-three championship.

This week’s PR Stunts, for two points apiece, all require a Nissan Pulsar GTi-R with B Class (601-700PI) tuning. You’ll want some offroad capabilities, with a dirt road Speed Trap and Speed Zone, along with a bit of a cross-country run up for the Danger Sign.

There’s three five-point Seasonal Championships this week. Each is a three-race championship against AI where you’ll need to top the points table at the end. There’s a mix of surfaces too, as you’ll run Classic Rally cars in the dirt racing event, and Rare Classics and Hypercars on the road racing routes.

Finally, three more three-point EventLab challenges await this week. These are all community-created custom courses, selected by Playground Games for unique challenges.

Series 36 Autumn Playlist: Challenges

For this week’s photo challenge you’ll need to photograph the Ford Mustang Boss ’69 at the Senko Mural. This is painted on the side of the Lugar Tranquilo player house in Playa Azul.

The Treasure Hunt will require you to hit 200mph in any electric vehicle at the Aerodromo en la Selva strip. When completed this will reveal the Treasure Chest, which is on the east side of the main river inlet just next to the runway. It’s actually so far out that you’ll likely be rest to the nearest road after you smash the chest…
