The final week of the current Forza Horizon 5 Series is now upon us, with a last set of challenges and rewards all geared around the current theme.
As the title for Series 39 — “Back to the 90s” — suggests, that theme is the 1990s. The game is taking a retro look at this decade, once described by a sentient computer progam as the pinnacle of human civilization. Also that was a quarter of a century ago.
Along with the 1990s’ events and rewards, Horizon Backstage makes its debut in the game this Series too. It’s something we saw added to FH4 towards the end of its life which allows players to vote for which rare cars should appear “Backstage”, and you can earn or buy passes to collect them.

Series 39: Back to the 90s
75 points are available each season in this a full-size, 300-point Series playlist, although you’ll need to be aware that with the recent additions there’s at least 26pt that players who have just the base game and don’t have access to online multiplayer cannot achieve. In fact it’s 34pt this week, leaving only just enough to score the two rewards.
Only four new cars are available, all as individual season rewards, so the two overall Series rewards are not new to the game. Scoring 80pts will land you the Mercedes-Benz 500E again, with 160pt for the GMC Typhoon.
Series 39 Spring/Hot Season Rewards
One car and one Horizon Backstage Pass are your rewards for scoring 20pt and 40pt this week, giving something of an end-game look about it now. The 20pt car is at least all-new, in the shape of the Subaru SVX.
Spring will run until 1430UTC on Thursday November 7, bringing Series 39 to a close along with it. Summer of Series 40 will follow on immediately afterwards, and we’re expecting to hear more about that soon.
