Microsoft has sent up another signal that the end of the road is in sight for Forza Horizon 5, releasing a bundle that comprises all of the game’s paid add-on car packs into one.
The pack goes by the name of “Forza Horizon 5: Ultimate Car Pack Collection” and includes all eleven of the previous standalone car pack add-ons. There’s a mix of car counts and prices in the packs, but in total it adds up to some 52 vehicles.
Had you picked up all 11 packs separately through the Microsoft store, it would have set you back a total of almost $75. The bundle comes in at a 33% discount — at $49.99 — but there is a little catch too.
While PC players who’ve bought any previous packs through Steam will only pay for the packs they haven’t yet acquired — still at the 33% discount — those who play on an Xbox console will have to buy the whole thing, duplicating previous purchases. That might mean you’d be better off picking up any packs you’re missing separately, although the discount doesn’t apply if you do.
The availability of the bundle almost certainly means that there’ll be no further paid add-ons for Forza Horizon 5 (at last, an accurate use of the world “ultimate”), and that’s one of the clearest signs yet that it’s all over bar the shouting for the title’s ongoing support.
We’d already seen the addition of the Horizon Backstage Pass — essentially a mechanism for players who’ve missed out on exclusive Playlist reward cars a second chance to get hold of them — back in October 2024, and the same thing heralded the fate of Forza Horizon 4.
Playground Games then announced that its monthly “Let’s Go” update preview streams would be ending the very next month, and that’s been followed up by a rather lackluster couple of Series over the past two months — one of which contained only one new vehicle.
Along with the new car pack bundle, it all rather seems like Forza Horizon 5 is set to be shuffled off — though Forza Horizon 4 did continue to be active for three years after it was replaced — and an announcement for Forza Horizon 6 may be coming sooner rather than later…
