A German-language social media account for Forza Horizon has revealed the date for April’s Forza Monthly, as well as some of the content players can expect when the new Series begins later this month.
The stream itself will broadcast from 1600 UTC on April 21 which, unusually for Forza Monthly shows, is a Friday. That caps the runtime to just an hour, as otherwise it will eat into the regular Forza Friday show.
In turn that upper limit for the show’s length strongly suggests that only Forza Horizon 5 will feature on the stream — meaning another month will have passed without any further information on the Forza Motorsport sequel/reboot, Forza Motorsport.
Along with announcing the date and time of the stream, which has yet to be posted on the English-language channels, the social media post also shows the traditional cover image which gives a taste of what to expect in the stream.
Of course we already knew what to expect in part, with the in-game “Coming Soon” feature going live for Series 20 as soon as Series 19 started back on March 30. That announces the theme of the Series — High Performance — as well as new cars, returning PR stunts, a new collectible, and the Stadium Oval.
We already saw that hinted at prior to last month’s Forza Monthly, with a wireframe model of what looked like a circular track placed within the Horizon Stadium in the “Torben Tuesday” teaser. The cover image for the stream further confirms that, showing a sharply banked corner coming off a shallower section of track.
Whereas the stadium interior itself is circular, this hints that the new course will be more of a two-turn oval — and at about 1.5-miles in length given the quarter-mile internal diameter of the stadium. We can also clearly see four very generous lanes, although pits and any clues on how to gain access to the track are hidden from view.
Also shown in the cover image, enlarged above, are four vehicles which could comprise the additional cars in the new Series. While three of them are pretty tricky to positively identify, the front one just about leaps out — thanks in no small part to the blue and orange color scheme.
That’s the Lamborghini Huracan STO, or “Super Trofeo Omologato”. As the name suggests, this car is effectively a homologation model for the Huracan Super Trofeo race car, and combines the most powerful version of the 5.2-liter V10 with extensive use of carbon-fiber — including the “cofango” front hood.
If you think you can identify the other three vehicles, feel free to leave your guesses in the comments thread. We’ll find out more about Series 20 — including if you were right! — when the stream begins at 1600UTC on Friday, April 21.
