The latest episode in the Forza Monthly series will be coming today, Thursday June 16, and it stands to be a bumper show.
It comes in a week where both of the Forza series’ titles — Motorsport and Horizon — have had grand reveals, and there’s set to be plenty more discussion on both in the episode.
Forza Motorsport was up first, with a new official trailer, a first gameplay video, and — most important of all — an official launch window: spring 2023. The announcement, during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, had lots more information besides, with Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt and FM creative director Chris Esaki going into more detail on everything we saw.
Esaki will be part of the Forza Monthly broadcast this month to discuss Forza Motorsport, so we may see some more information about the game during the hour-long show.
In addition, we’re going to see a preview of Forza Horizon 5’s Series 9, set to debut on June 23, with creative director Mike Brown and lead producer Tom Butcher on the Playground Games sofas.
S9 is, according to the in-game panel, known as “Hot Wheels”, but — before the reveal last week — was previousl called “Horizon Nexus”. We’re not quite sure what that entails, but one of the new biomes in the Hot Wheels Expansion has the same name.
It’s been previously stated that some of the cars seen in the trailer for the expansion but not listed in the car list for the pack will be available as reward cars during S9. That would include the 2JetZ, Nash, and Ford Duelly, last seen in FH4’s Hot Wheels DLC pack.
Either way, we’ll learn more about Series 9 and perhaps the expansion too during the show. You’ll be able to tune in on Twitch and YouTube from 1600 UTC.
