Most of you are familiar Forza Motorsport, Gran Turismo’s competitor on the Xbox platform. Just a while ago, the first information about the next game in the series, Forza 3, was released – and instant comparisons, criticisms, and critiques have been flowing in from around the web. The game will include 400 cars and 100 tracks, and is finally going to include “cockpit view” – something that’s quickly becoming a must-have for modern racing games. The most interesting new feature, thought, is an “HD Video Editor”. Think of it kind of like a replay editor, or full-motion photomode. Your videos can be uploaded to the web and shared with your friends, although the details on this aren’t completely clear just yet. Regardless, it’s an exciting and ambitious new feature that would also be welcome in GT5.
Mustangmiha, you talk just like a real retard! Excuse me please for the expression, but Forza Motorsport 3 is not the equal of GT5. If you look at all the goods that FM3 has over GT5, you’ll see that it acually looks a bit better than GT5, where GT5 looks a bit candy like, i hate that look that PD supports, IT’s NOT RREEAALL. I totally love GT4 by the way, finished it 3 times, and now I’m at my 3rd career, but believe me, the customization is absolutely missing in GT5, and here is where FM3 flies through the roof with the insane customization and really, can you do anything else in GT5 than just change the stupid rims and add new spoilers in the back??? I don’t think so… FM3 will eventually grow to destroy GT5 just as the superstar that it was… bye bye guys!

Come on people, I myself have been a gran turismo fan since the very start, but I am definately without a doubt getting Forza 3 if GT5 is not released this year.
Unlike some people on here, if you actually watch the gamestop interview with the forza team, the tyre modelling is incredible- no way has gran turismo ever done that!
PD have been poor, they show a video with no ingame play and a tiny snippet of damage! I respect other games especially FM3 who are putting up a pretty good fight.
I think some people here actually need to go and play forza 2 to see how good of a game that is instead of talking rubbish.

That’s ridiculous. What competition? There no competition on GT’s behalf. There is no game. In the mean time xbox players have had forzas every two years and have been playing them. btw I will buy PS3 when GT5 comes out and I think I will like it more than forzas, but the marketing politics which surrounds PS3 and GT franchises isn’t any good for customers -> Yamauchi: “We could release GT5 whenever we want.” They dangle it in front of customers like carrot is dangled in front of the donkey. IT IS THE REAL SIMULATOR
being a hardcore GT fan myself, i’ve been frustrated enough to go out and buy an xbox 360. and doing so i believe forza has delivered more in a short amount of time than PD. yeh their graphics might not be as sharp(partially due to damage capabilities). but the gameplay is so much deeper than GT has ever been.
forza allows engine swaps, turbo or supercharger add-ons. the telemetry while watching replay is the best feature for me. you get to see your settings at work in real-time. tire pressure, shock travel, its the best. for those hating of forza, i think you’re a bunch of PD jock-riders. just admit that someone put out a better product in a shorter amount of time. i know GT5 will be a great game, but for now i’m really looking towards firing up Forza 3 in my soon to be new Xbox elite.
I bought the PS3 specifically for GT5 but have found it very usefull watching Blueray movies on my 52 inch tv so why would I trade it in for an Xbox that dosen’t play in 1080p. Just keep playing prolouge until the full version comes out ‘cuz what ever they say about the other games GT will always have something better. Hey! they have GT academy for aspiring race drivers with talent. So if you don’t think you have what it takes to be a good driver than feel free to play other console games. But if you think you do here is your chance to prove it in GT with PD.
That sold me… I am getting a xbox 360 … I think all the arcady feeling is because you can choose how to play the game .. arcade mode or real life mode, just look at the scenery on the stunt car movie … amazing .. and the tire physics .. and the fact that a mistake during races actually cause you trouble .. like in real life, GT5 better have all this and 10x more things… if there are no damage in gt5 (both internal and graphic wise) it will be laughed at .. especially if it comes out 2010 … then it better be the perfect game.. which I doubt.
Me the Gran Turismo Drive right… If I was this so called person I would love it. Working with the GT God. Plus if I was him I would have told everyone the bloody date already so come up with a better one Will I am.
Oh and why has everyone lost the plot when it comes to waiting. Yes Forza has made 3 games in the time between GT4 and now…. and we still don’t have GT5. But why do you think more games constitutes to a better franchise?
I don’t mind PD taking over 5 years over GT5. As long as GT5 is awesome. There are other things in life than games. Even if your life is games, there are other games to play to take up your time.
The car dynamics in the HD video section was just so arcadey it was funny. Even in-game, it didn’t look better than Prologue. It does have damage, but hey, Forza is on a console that doesn’t work for more than 6 months. Whatever GT5 has, or doesn’t have… it will be better than Forza. Even if it comes out 2011, I ain’t bothered. The competition looks weak.

Next year is also in a few months. Those 3 or 4 months more we will have to wait are worth the 300 more cars plus better physics/graphics/effects, aren’t they? Let’s just wait for the Sony’s conference. Nevertheless PD still pisses me off. As someone said, they should have at least been providing us with some fresh screenshots or gameplays of their achievements.

But what good is this when we all have to wait until NEXT YEAR at the earliest for GT5! When FM3 will be out in a few months. Yes taking a longer time in production will usually yeild a better product, but taking years to develop one game when the competitor is already at its third iteration is asking too much from loyal GT fans. People need to realise that its abit stupid to constantly remind themselves that GT5 will be better than FM3 when the former is still years away!

This looks great, but I’m not afraid of FM3 being better than GT5. The releasedate is earlier than GT5!!! As long as GT5 stays a ps3-exclusive, I’m happy. No racing game can reach the level of Gran Turismo!!! Yeah! :P But this is going to be a good alternative for xbox users.

the forza franchise is beginning to deliver everything that gamers have been asking for in a driving sim. even if GT5 comes out next spring, they will still lose many followers and would-be newbies out to forza for the 09′ delivery.

their stunts look no different from what i’ve seen on Hot Version Tuner battle when they exhibited some insane drift stunts. these kids on team black jack have some serious gamer drift skills.

So I will not revile his name after all. I find it hard to understand why some of you people can be so black. This will be the last post I’ll be given to GT Planet due to the demeanor of the people on this form.
As much as I love the GT franchise, until they announce GT5 will include damage modeling, I could care less. More power to Forza, the real console RACING simulator.

did anyone see the online community teaser video? great tandem drift stunts and various car stunt choreography. at the end a Ford GT hits a guard rail and flips in the air. the roads look very nice as well in the video.

Evening everyone this is Gran Turismo Driver, I know you all are waiting for the confirmation date of the release Gran Turismo 5 after seeing the news about Microsoft Forza 3. You will get a hint of the release date tomorrow but I will confirm that it won’t be released this year. The reason why I couldn’t confirm anything through Jordan is I like my job a lot I love what I do. I will be sharing some of the information I know through one member on this form. He’s the ONLY person on this form that has followed Gran Turismo to the tea as well being a REAL race driver. He’s lives in the United States and is a 7 time Mid-West Karting Champion, drove in the 24hrs of Daytona two year ago and has drove on every real world track that was placed in Gran Turismo. Some of you know who he is but have no idea of his back round. He’s given every one insight on driving in Gran Turismo as well on what to expect in the up coming Gran Turismo. I will not revile this person name just yet due to I haven’t wrote him yet. He will be contacted with in the hour.

Hmmm sold me xbox360 with forza2 and all the dlc’s about a year ago, with lots of regrets since forza2 is a great racing game, got me the PS3, bought Prologue, bought DFGT absolutely no probs great game as well, However M$ really made big anouncements in e3 besides Forza 3 which is shaping up quite nicely, and with a secure release date, it make me consider whether i should get an xbox360,

Pretty much sums up just how poor PD’s media relations are that GTPlanet has to resort to a Forza 3 news item.
Just one GT5 screenshot would have recieved huge coverage at this and other websites and taken the wind out of Forza 3’s sails.
I’m impressed but I think they could have done a lot better job on this trailer. Here they are ready to make an impression and they choose crappy non-distinct guitar noise with hardly any sound-fx an no really thrilling in-car (or otherwise) racing action. I’ll tell ya right now I am the most impressed with NFS Shift. I thought they could have had a longer car list and better tracks but its looks and just seems amazing overall. Ah well who knows, maybe PD and Sony will drop a bomb on us and announce a September release :P

I’ve looked at the clip in HD and Nne HD format. I still don’t like the way the cars looks but I must say that the tire flex was cool on the GT40that’s about it.
To bad it doesn’t support 1080p like GT5, microsoft’s GT killer is still generations behind the billion dollar franchise.
PD really need to pull something out of the bag with regards to GT5 this E3, otherwise i think theyre about to lose a fair chunk of their fanbase. If you watch Greenwalts speech, everything he says is (annoyingly) pretty much on the money, providing it gets out the door before GT5, and with PD’s track record it honestly wouldnt suprise me.
So come on Sony, cram a stick of dynamite up PD’s ass and lets have something to blow M$ & FM3 out of the water!

A couple of points:
1) Is that really FM3??? Looks exactly like GT5P! Graphics, check…
2) While I’m not one easily amused by graphics (as I’ve said many times in the forums) we have just seen that Turn 10 are resting not one minute to upend PD. This is one less thing that GT has over FM….little by little. Those who think PD can leave good enough as is (I’m loking at you damage-haters…) are in for a rough awakening.
