Turn 10’s latest update for Forza Motorsport comes with rather a special backdrop, as the game marks a year since its official launch.
Despite a somewhat rocky start twelve months ago, Turn 10 has consisently worked to improve key aspects of the game following community feedback, and looks intent on continuing that trend following their latest roadmap.

This updated facility will test pure power and and technique on the banked oval and technical infield road courses. Overall there are five layouts in total to drive:
- Full Circuit – 2.78 miles
- Full Circuit Reverse – 2.78 miles
- Club Circuit – 1.93 miles
- Club Circuit Reverse – 1.93 miles
- Speedway – 2.44 miles
Turn 10 has also confirmed the next track coming will be Bathurst, during Update 15 sometime in December. This will of course be the final track addition for 2024, but more are planned for 2025.
Forza Motorsport Update 13: Drift Mode
The most significant new feature is Drift Mode. Available in Free Play and Private Multiplayer, the new mode will push your car control skills to the very limit.
Multiple scoring options are available, including your best single lap, outright total score, and single continuous drift score. You can drift any segment of track to get your highest score. Your score for the lap will be banked and restarted when you cross the start/finish line.
New drift-specific Rivals events will also be available with selected car and track pairs. Private Meetup lobbies also have drift scoring, with public Meetups set to arrive in a later update.
To celebrate the release of the new game mode, a number of Formula Drift cars will be made available in the Showroom:
- Toyota GR Supra #151 Formula Drift ’20
- Dodge Viper SRT-10 #43 Formula Drift ’06
- Nissan 240SX #777 Formula Drift ’97
Forza Motorsport Update 13: New Cars
Free Cars
As part of the one-year anniversary since the launch of Forza Motorsport, T10 will be giving players a trio of 2024 Formula Drift Mustang RTRs on October 16. Specifically they are the #25 of Vaughn Gitten Jr, the #88 of Chelsea DeNofa, and the #130 of James Deane. These three cars will be available in the Showroom for free during Update 13.
Car Pass holders will also receive a bonus Mustang from October 16 at 4PM PT (October 17 at 0000 UTC). That ‘stang in particular is the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, the track-optimized variant of the latest generation Mustang.

Two Mustangs make their first appearance in Forza Motorsport: the 1967 Shelby GT500 and 2024 Mustang GT.
The Shelby takes motorsport lessons from Ford’s huge Le Mans win and applies them to the 1967 Mustang. Under the hood lies a beefy 7.0-liter V8 putting out 355hp, and t’is still quick even by today’s standards.
Fast forward to more modern times, the 2024 Mustang GT is the latest generation of the enduring muscle car. Now more sophisticated than ever before, the S650-generation Mustang is still a bruiser at heart. That’s thanks to an updated 5.0-liter Coyote V8 which now makes a stout 480hp. With tweaks to the chassis, the new Mustang can also hold its own on a track.
