Grand Theft Auto V is an incredible game – huge, expansive and filled with content. As far as GTA titles go, you’d be hard pressed to find one with more stuff to do. That being said, perhaps the most impressive thing the game is capable of is this incredible GT5 homage video from Youtuber RavenwestR1.
The subject is the iconic E3 2009 Gran Turismo 5 debut trailer and every small detail – even the car liveries – is recreated to the highest possible standard with the GTAV engine. Los Santos and it’s many locations lends itself to an almost inch-perfect recreation of Polyphony’s memorable sizzle reel. Particular stand-outs include focus-shots of the Suzuki SX4 WRC and the NASCAR pre-race fanfare, aside from a few car model mis-matches you’ll find all of the action points recreated well.
The original trailer actually featured in GTPlanet’s top Gran Turismo videos chosen by the staff in May’s GT Week. When it first launched it reached incredible fan-fare showing off the ambitions of the game – new Motorsport classifications, damage and an expanded Photo Mode that would become incredibly popular with snappers everywhere. GTPlanet’s own Jordan Greer commented that this video was probably the focus of over 500,000 posts when it first launched.
We can only imagine the effort it took to recreate a lot of these scenes and the keen eye to detail makes it a fantastic replica, our kudos go out to RavenwestR1 for this fantastic video. On his channel you can find more racing game intros and trailers that have been recreated in GTAV including: NFS Underground, Forza 6’s launch trailer and NFS2015’s launch trailer. Visiting RavenwestR1’s channel is a must for those who enjoyed the GT5 recreation.
Don’t forget GTPlanet’s Grand Theft Auto forum section, either!

GT5 was epic, GT6 so so…. everything about gt5 was exciting and new for the series. Hopefully gt sport will have life like gt5 did. GT6 was seemingly ABORTED by PD halfway into its development.
1:29 – 1:34 ; So that’s why damage model in GTA5 is so horrid. Rockstar were trying to mimic the success of GT5’s damage model! It all makes sense!
Never knew me posting it as a status would get it on the homepage XD
amazing.
That was freakin’ awesome!
Wow, that was pretty good.
This is funny – look at the quality difference between both games XD
This is a great development especially the licensing fee. You can already see from the comments that much of the riff-raff will not be joining.
Since doing this he’s also done an amazing Horizon 3 trailer

Not much to say about it… pretty cool though.
