    As far as the legendary SL goes it is a great choice (even with the styling) but it isn’t in the same style as the other GT covers. Before, some guessing, debate, and inspection by a car guy, was needed to find the ID of the cover car. Now it seems as if MB want’s even casual car fans to get the message. I guess you get what you pay for.

    Yep. I also have question about the honesty of this Cover..

    1. on all my PS3 games, the Blue-ray mark is in the left side, and it says playstation3 to the right.

    2. the picrure looks like a nice photo-shop adding un top of the Box side ( slight out of the size, up left. wouldn’t/ couldn’t happen, because in that side, is under Neath the plastic cover .

    3. the shading in the left side, is so photo-shopped , i work every day with PS.

    Oh man, it’s so easy isn’t it. but i could be wrong.. Ha ha lets just get the thing released, so we can start talking about it for real.

    I just noticed something wrong with the cover, the front wheels are turned to the left, and the steering wheel is perfectly straight!?!?

    Sitting 6 feet away from a 17 inch monitor in my Playseat so I could use my G25 would be JUST STUPID!!! I’m not investing money into a PC to play racing games, that’s why I have a PS3. You may expendable cash to upgrade your PC every 6 months so you can keep playing “current” games, that’s good for you.

    Hmm, I was rather hoping it would be an Austin Allegro in dark brown for the cover, but, there you go. Cant always get what you want. (:P)

    and BTW, i use a Usb-switzer for my Logitech DF-GT wheel for Driving PC sims on my Setup.. there is some orsm pc Race sims, GT serie is orsm, but, it’s not the only one – trust me!! (lol)

    Yeah, they could have chosen for another car. But I think Mercedes-Benz pays Polyphony Digital to commerse the SLS AMG. You remember the commercial from Mercedes including the car in GT5? ;) And remember, with the money they can make the game better and better.

    Wasn’t too suprised by the cover featuring the SLS AMG. I read (maybe on this site) that the car is exclusive to the game. So the only way to drive the car is either buy it for real or in the game.

    The cover is very stylish in my opinion, the ‘inviting’ message that the cover implies works since it has been so long since the last full GT game. Regardless if it delivers on all that it has, the game will be HUGE!

    obviously console gaming is better than pc gaming. if ps3 allowed use of keyboard and mouse for all fps games, then pc gaming will be dead.

    consoles are 1 product, processor, so the games designed for it are custom made for it, exploiting the power of the machine. computer software, especially games, will always have to written to be compatible for different types of machines, so you loose efficiency. while it is true that a more powerful program can be built for the pc, this adds costs, time and dificulty for the end user. so all these things combined will show that pc gaming is negative, it causes more problems than solves.

    console developers exploit the machine over time and make better use of the hardware. e.g. gran turismo 4 was an technical feat for the playstation 2, a console with a 300mhz processor, and 32mb ram…that would be impossible on a pc.

    consoles are cheaper, easier to use and longer lasting (the rate at which a computer is technologically obsolete is ever increasing, adding more cost to the users).

    and also a more important last point, pc gamers are nerds.

    FERRARI 458 ITALIA
    MERCEDES SLS AMG
    and the winner is the merc

    Why do you think, the car colour should be changed to silver? I don´t want to see a black and white cover, so red is beautyful and it is the standart color and the most shown color of the SLS.

    It’s a box. All the logos are where they ought to be and some crappy photoshop semi-abstract car detail. I’ll recognise it and know I’ve bought the right thing. Purpose served I doubt if I’ll ever look at it again.

    The US box art is the same, and people please get over the looks of the damn SLS. I find it quite beautiful because the design is for function and not jus looks. Take the GTR for example.

    To say that the PC sims/race Games Looks better, isn’t a true story.. Open your eyes M8, the depth and the Material feeling is something ells on the Box. I do like a lot of PC sims, and yes they do have Mods/skins/track editors and so forth ( which is a great thing) but still, there is a rather big difference in the overall Graphics, and the feeling of it.. You just wait and see, when the full version is released, and further more please be honest..

    Ex: DIRT2 looks rather great on the PS3/Xbox, But on PC is very far from a realistic look, it’s to plastic like, and the materials isn’t realistic to look at, the Cars are all to shiny/wierd looking Hurrah for DX11 !! (IMHO)

    As S3 Racer ones Said in another discussion, GT6 will blow our minds, because they haven’t reached the full potential of the PS3 yet ( I Hope ) and Do agree on that Thought!!

    Just my opinion of course :O)

    I hate to be the bringer of bad news but shopto.net have moved their release date from the placeholder March date to June 25th, and when they move their dates back they usually have had word or good reason to do so.

    I’m afraid the June release date makes far more sense as well.

    This box art feels…powerful. When I get a chance to hold the GT5 box, I’ll be thinking, wow, this is going to be a great game. The black background, the red car, the blue and red GT logo, the transparent plastic – it’s all great. Good job, PD!

    i dont know or its just me…the box art could be better..some kind of masterpiece

    better dont highlight the wireframe…

    the red colour of the car should change to silver because it will blend with Gt logo…which will lost focus on the new apple lookalike GT5 logo (which is cool)

    I’m going to go ahead and agree with the poster who said this game should be made for PC.

    That said, my PS3 will not have another BD disk in it for awhile after it comes out. I can feel things starting to ramp up.

    1. Call work, tell them I have Malaria, that should give me a minimun of 2 weeks sick leave.
    2. Send the wife away, preferably international.
    3. Purchase a drip unit from local hospital.
    4. Play GT5 till i seizure.

    Hmm…. glorified Dodge Viper. Ferrari 458 Italia… its a work of art in itself. Oh well, I’m sure PD got a few bucks for putting it up. It’s not particularly good looking, IMO.

    consoles are shit coz the games are mad expensive and the graphics sucks!
    PS: I own a PS3 and its pretty boring. Im always playing on the computer. Much more fun, mods, better graphics, and everything else is better.

    ahhahaha, guys, it’s only a cover! You will not be sitting there staring at it!

    You will look at it once when you get it read the book maybe, and smell it then you will put it in your ps3 and thats it. Covers dont mean nothing to me.

    And its not a PROPER COVER that is on a actual box!

    yes the cover art is of the game, but its been photoshopped onto a ps3 box.

    I’m guessing PD wants to make their fans think they are buying a real car and not just a game. :). That box art cover looks almost identical (style) in a car showroom pictures. Whats next? Gamestop needs our signature and drivers license to qualify on buying GT5? LOL.

    Part of me says that PD should have gone with a Ferrari for the box art since this will be the first MAJOR Gran Turismo to feature the legendary marque. Then again, I’d probably feel like including Ferrari would get “fanboys” to care less about any other companies featured. I am a big fan of the SLS. It’s going to be a lovely game no matter what front car is featured.

    Don’t know if anyone mentioned it yet but that’s the PAL box art (notice the PEGI rating system on the bottom left corner which is only in Europe).

    So fear not, PAL box art haters, NTSC (North America, Japan, etc) might have a different box art after all.

    GT isn’t about CG looking images, its about realism – including the car graphics

    At least I hope the Special Edition features a different cover. Unfortunately I don’t like this, seems for me an amateur Photoshop work when looking it against the previous GT covers. Even the tire cover of the first one was more motor-porn than this one.

    hmm i would have thought it would have looked better.

    you know, something that would have showed of the graphics, like a really nice cgi rendered ferrari or something. lol this looks like something about of a car manual booklet.

    oh well, its whats inside the thing that counts. and if they launch a special edition version, i might be getting that.

    but still, not a great box design. could have been better.
