Since v1.12 was released with new options for steering wheel controllers, many players have noticed a dramatic alteration to force feedback behaviour – indeed Polyphony Digital has already updated the game once with a hotfix for this very issue.

Another small “hotfix” update has been released this morning, firmly aimed at the force feedback issue once again. The release notes say:

The following issue has been addressed:

– An issue wherein the force feedback when steering was not working as intended for some vehicles. As a consequence of this change, the intensity of the force feedback for the following cars has been adjusted:

  • Formula Gran Turismo
  • Lotus 97T ’85
  • Red Bull X2010, X2011, X2014 series (except X2014 Junior)
  • All racing karts

As ever, there will be some heated and excited discussion regarding this update in our Gran Turismo 6 forums.

Well as always I like to try and be positive for at least as much as I have whined, so I’m happy to add since trying the fgt (which I use regularly) the ffb feels better than ever and was very fun to drive and felt sharp and responsive. Its good to also see the little bits being tweeked and fixed and the content added like lotus f1 and ft1 racecar have been awesome and jus keep getting better and better. I would say the ft racer could do with a little tweek on ffb as well as feels pretty flat thru out the whole angle but is Still the best car to drive. Oh and the lake track WOW its one of my new faces for a road car cruise when I wanna chill and also definitely a step in the right direction with gauges etc and extra parys . and also and lastly conrgrats and kudos on your commitment to this game as I’m sure a lot have feared it may be forgotten with an impending gt7 on ps4 so finally looking forward to getting on to play again now with an air of peace and noting to dampen the oodles of fun. Nice reporting to yal nosebluntbob over and out. Chow

I tried the Red Bull Standard Championship again as soon as I read this news and can confirm that it felt back to how it should. I’m using a T500 and it became unplayable several updates ago – now there is a proper weight / resistance, but prior to this update there was none at all with my wheel. Verdict very pleased as I am still grinding / saving for a Miura.

Hopefully this will fix any other issues in the background with the FFB. Fingers crossed but most of all very happy that they are trying to get to the bottom of things.

Calm down. It will come, just not right now. You’ll find that the force feedback was a bit *censored* up in 1.12 and not quite fixed in 1.13. Stuff like this happens when you’re trying to make good of what’s already there as well as working constantly to add new features. Just give it a break and stuff will definitely come together. Eventually.

Good. They did fix things with that first patch after 1.12 but some cars still weren’t right (Lotus 97T especially). Hopefully this solves the problem and maybe give us more range in the sliders

Not driven any of those cars, but glad they fixed them for those that have & do. What we really need is a separate resistance/weight slider that will make the wheel a lot heavier than it is at present, one that goes up to 20 instead of 10.
