The pre-order details and a special edition have been officially announced for Gran Turismo 7, along with pricing and bonus content.
Depending on where you are in the world, there’ll be three versions of GT7 available, with a pre-order only “Launch Edition” and the “25th Anniversary Edition” sitting alongside the regular version.
Pre-Order Bonuses
No matter which version, if you pre-order your copy of GT7, the game will include a 3-car pack consisting of the Toyota Supra GT500 ’97 (Castrol Tom’s), Porsche 917 Living Legend, and the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept Stealth Model. You’ll also get a 100,000 credit head start.
Standard Edition
The regular edition of Gran Turismo 7 is available as both a disc and a digital version for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Whether you buy disc or digital, both come in at $59.99 (€69.99/£59.99) for the PS4 version and $69.99 (€79.99/£69.99) for the PS5 version. Should you pick up the PS4 version and later wish to upgrade to the PS5 version, you will be able to pay an additional $10 (€10/£10) for a digital PS5 version… though that’s where it gets a little complicated.
The product page notes that if you own the PS4 disc version, you will still need to insert the disc into the PS5 when playing the upgraded PS5 digital version — which is of course not possible if you own a PS5 Digital Edition. That means you’ll have to pay full price for the digital PS5 version of GT7 — though if you have the digital PS4 version you will be able to upgrade without hindrance.
Launch Edition
The “Launch Edition” for the game, which only seems to be available in North America through participating retail partners, is a disc-only version.
Aside from the silver “Launch Edition” splash on the cover, the game is identical to the regular version of the game, and even comes in at the same prices — $59.99 on PS4 and $69.99 on PS5 — though there is one difference.
As standard it includes the pre-order bonuses, with the 100,000 in-game credit boost and the Supra/Mazda/Porsche three-car pack.
Once again, you’ll need to note that if you pick up the PS4 version you’ll need to pay a $10 upgrade fee to get the PS5 version and it requires the PS4 disc in order to function. As the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition does not have a disc drive, you’ll need to pay full price again in order to upgrade to the PS5 digital version — definitely something to consider if you are in the market for the new console.
25th Anniversary Edition
Polyphony Digital is celebrating 25 years since the launch of the original Gran Turismo in 1997 with a 25th Anniversary Edition of GT7. In addition to the pre-order bonus items included with the Launch Edition, the 25th Anniversary Edition includes a Toyota GR Yaris with a custom livery (based upon the country your PSN account is registered with), PSN avatars, and a copy of the official Gran Turismo 7 soundtrack.
The 25th Anniversary Edition will be available as a limited-edition physical “SteelBook” version that includes the PS5 game disc and 1 million in-game credits, or as the “Digital Deluxe” version which includes a slightly enhanced 1.5 million in-game credits. Both will be priced at $89.99 (€99.99/£89.99).
Unlike the standard and Launch editions, the 25th Anniversary Edition includes both the PS5 and PS4 versions of the game. There will be no PS4 disc version of the 25th Anniversary Edition.
