A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with the latest trio of races to occupy players across the next seven days now available.
There’s a little bit of a shake-up in the format this week, as we see a return to preset Balance of Performance (BOP) in all three races. This system roughly equalizes vehicle performance within a given class, but also locks out settings; after two weeks of tuning events, it’s back to basics.
Race A is a one-make event this week, meaning you can again rent a car for the race — as with all three events this time round — if you’d prefer to keep the mileage and wear off your own car. However it also means you’re limited to standard vehicle color options, with no liveries on the borrowed machinery.
The car for the race is the Mazda RX-8 Spirit R. You’ll be racing the rotary car — at the time of writing the last rotary engined car produced — on a four-lap sprint around Sardegna Road Track B Reverse; that means the awkward left-handed corner slash braking point is the first turn.
It’s a simple enough prospect. You just need the car and Sports Hard tires, with no other concerns. Except maybe track limits on the exit of the final turn — and the false start check on the grid start.
Willow Springs makes a rare Daily Races appearance in Race B, with the main Big Willow course hosting a six-lap race for Gr.3 cars.
You have free choice of vehicle from this GT3/GTE-like category, so it’s simply a case of picking your favorite and strapping on the Racing Hard tires required.
This week’s final event is also a sprint race, and you won’t need to expend any brain power on strategy. Unusually Race C has neither a mandatory pit stop or mandatory tires, and both fuel consumption and tire degradation are set to a 1x multiplier.
That means that all you’ll need is an appropriate Gr.4 car — which is almost certainly going to be the Alfa Romeo 155 V6, with the car currently locking out 95 of the top 100 qualifying times — on Racing Hard tires for the 12-lap race around Dragon Trail Gardens Reverse.
In order to access the Daily Races, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub.
With GT7’s Daily Races updating every Monday thus far, the next new set should arrive on Monday August 29.
