Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Z Axis

The latest set of Gran Turismo 7’s Daily Races is now available in Sport Mode, featuring circuits with steep elevation changes.

As usual, Race A is a “No DR/SR Updates” event, so you’ll neither gain nor lose Driver Rating or Sportsmanship Rating no matter what happens in the race.

That’s good news as the race takes place at once of the game’s oddest tracks: the Test Course at Alsace. It’s a tight, compact circuit with something of a rollercoaster middle sector which will be an incident magnet.

Your car for the seven-lap race is BMW’s sleek Z8 convertible, which is a car more suited to boulevard cruising than circuit racing, and on Sports Hard tires it’ll be something of a handful.

This week’s Race B heads to Spain, and the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. It’s a regular haunt for Formula One, but also GT3 sprint and endurance racing more like the Gr.3 vehicles you’ll be using this week.

It’s a four-lap race of the circuit this week, with the “no chicane” layout which skips out the right-left-right in the final section. You can pick any Gr.3 car for this short sprint event, with only Racing Medium tires required.

Race C steps the speed up a notch, as you’ll be heading to the Suzuka Circuit in some of the fastest hard-top racing cars in the world outside of prototype categories.

That’s the Gr.2 category, which encompasses Super GT and DTM cars — giving you a choice of seven vehicles. You only need to fit Racing Soft tires to your chosen car for the event.

It’s a ten-lap race, and even with a 3x tire wear multiplier — so that your tires wear three times faster than normal — you should just about be able to get to the finish line without making any pit stops.

In order to access the Daily Races, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub.

With GT7’s Daily Races updating every Monday across the game’s life to date, the next new set should arrive on Monday June 26.
