Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Spa All-Stars

Another new Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial is now available, bringing in 2025 with a pick and mix event comprising some of the game’s most iconic cars at one of the most legendary circuits.

While labelled as a Gr.3 event, this week’s challenge — running over the next 14 days — gives you a choice of which of three famous race cars that made their mark in previous GT games you’d like to use for a hot lap at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

As you can probably guess from our choice of lead image, that’s the three classic GT500 cars: the Honda NSX ’00, Nissan Skyline GT-R ’99, and Toyota Supra ’97.

Players familiar with the cars and this category will probably gravitate towards the NSX — which was the fastest car overall in an open Gr.3 event at this course back in June 2024 — and a quick glance at the leaderboard shows this to be the case with 98 of the top 100 times now using this car.

That also gives us an expectation (although there has been a change in game physics since then) for the approximately times required for the various rewards. Currently the top time, at 2:17.2, is a few tenths shy of that former mark, so we’re expecting a bit more to come but probably not far below a 2:16.9. That’ll set gold at just about a 2:20.9 by close of play on January 16.

With a week remaining on the Honda NSX time trial, times are remaining stubbornly close to the original record as barely a tenth has been shaved off that opening day marker. Currently the top time sits at a 1:01.733, setting the gold threshold at 1:03.584. There’s always the possibility of more to come, but it’s not likely to be much now so if you’re already better than 1:03.3 you’re probably safe.

In order to access the Online Time Trials, you’ll need to unlock Sport Mode, by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe single player hub. As it’s just you against the clock and not a direct, head-to-head multiplayer event, PlayStation Plus is not required.

You’ll usually need to be within 3% of the fastest time globally once the event finishes in order to secure “gold” status and a 2m credit bonus prize. There’s smaller prizes of one million for being within 5%, and 250,000cr for bronze at 10% off.

The events update every Thursday, with each individual challenge usually remaining available for two weeks and the oldest of the two events being replaced each week. You can look forward to the next new Time Trial arriving at 0700 UTC on Thursday January 9.
