Updated: While the original video has now been removed, the global PlayStation account has subsequently uploaded another version of it, now called “Ready Set GT”. The original article continues below.
A new TV advert for Gran Turismo 7 has sneaked out a little ahead of schedule, appearing unlisted on the official PlayStation Latin America YouTube account.
The 30-second ad seems to be destined for television, and features some brand-new footage of GT7 along with a couple of clips from Behind the Scenes videos shown late in 2021.
It starts off with a new sequence involving six cars, four of which are either new to the series or returning cars from older games that skipped out on GT Sport. That includes the Ferrari F8 Tributo, Mercedes CLK-LM, and the classic Toyota Castrol Tom’s Supra.
A short, new race sequence follows, involving the quartet with an R34 Skyline and a Ford F150 Raptor — a rather odd mix — before switching to another new clip at the brand new Trial Mountain.
That then segues into the Behind the Scenes clips we’ve previously seen, although there are a couple of new moments in there too, particularly a new angle of Brighton Antiques. The ad then closes out with a new clip of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in which the Lamborghini Huracan’s livery is gradually completed while racing.
As far as we can tell, there’s nothing entirely new, nor — unlike some earlier promotional material — anything teased in the advert, with even those now-expected light traces not revealing any further clues. Oddly, while the video is clearly intended for Spanish-speaking markets, with all the text overlays in Spanish, there is an English-language narrated voiceover.
It’s the second new TV advert we’ve seen in the last four weeks, following an earlier global ad spot called “Find Your Line: Lose Yourself“, and with review copies of the game now in the hands of media worldwide we expect it won’t be the last as the promotional push moves up a gear or two.
