For the second month in a row we have a slightly earlier hint at the contents of an upcoming update for Gran Turismo 7, as studio boss Kazunori Yamauchi has tweeted out his regular teaser.
While we ordinarily see these posts over the weekend preceding an update, February’s came late on Friday evening and this month’s is even earlier — arriving early Friday morning.
Once more it shows a three-car selection, by far the most common count in GT7’s update, and for the second month in a row, the word “car” doesn’t seem to cut it…
We’ll start right-of-shot, because that’s the vehicle that’ll probably get the most positive reaction from the wider community as it appears to be the most recent iteration of the Aston Martin Vantage.
Introduced in 2018, this model of the Vantage made its debut with an AMG-sourced, twin-turbo V8 engine, producing around 500hp. It was later developed into a V12 model too, but it doesn’t look like our silhouette is sporting the relevant bodywork changes — or the facelifted treatment — so we think it’s going to be the earlier car.
On the left is a vehicle which is Gran Turismo through and through, though like some similar, earlier cars we can see there being some ruckus on social media about its addition. There’s a couple of vehicles it could be, as the car we reckon it is was badge-engineered for different markets, but either way it appears to be the Renault Kangoo (or Nissan Kubistar), a small commercial based on the Clio platform.
It’s a pretty lightweight, small, front-wheel drive van, with a variety of humble engines (commonly diesel) but a hoot to drive in the real world. We can only imagine what engine swap Polyphony Digital has in store…
Lurking at the back we see the very obvious Kodo lines of a modern Mazda, and from the size of it we reckon it’s a CX-30. That’ll be a sibling vehicle to the Mazda 3, probably sporting the same SkyActiv-X engine which mixes diesel and gas technology.

These pre-update teasers only ever highlight the upcoming new vehicle content, and is only the first stage of an update’s reveal timeline. That means fans can expect more information coming over the next few days about any of the other contents.
March is, of course, the third anniversary month for Gran Turismo 7, and with the GT World Series looming large — official qualifiers start on April 2 — the time is ripe for a track to come into the game after a while without one. However we won’t know more on that front until mid-week.
While there’s no date posted on Yamauchi’s Tweet for the update, the normal schedule is for an update to arrive on the final Thursday of a month. That would mean Thursday March 27 is the date we’d expect, following a little more information by way of a teaser video on the Wednesday, but that’ll be confirmed later.
Watch this space for all the latest information as we get it.
