A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges are now available, setting players five new tasks to accomplish over the next seven days across some of the events already available along with one new Special Event.
Added in the Spec II update, Weekly Challenges is a new feature consisting of a curated playlist of events with special bonus prizes for completing multiple races. Where you’ve already completed one of the given challenges in regular gameplay, you’ll still need to race them again for the Weekly Challenges — at least if you want the Weekly Challenge bonuses.
This week’s new Special Event, created just for this week and disappearing at the week’s conclusion, takes you to Watkins Glen. It’s a one-model event for the Honda Civic (EK) Type R — permitting both road cars and the Touring Car — over five laps of the circuit in New York State. It’s another five-lap blast, with no special concerns about tires or performance points (PP), and it’s worth 81,000cr for the win.
The shortest race in the entire game is part of this week’s rotation as you’ll be heading to the odd BB Raceway track for a two-lap race in the Sunday Cup. You can use any Road Car, and there’s a 5,000cr prize pot. Don’t spend it all at once.
Brands Hatch appears for the second week in a row, with a European Sunday Cup 500 event at the GP circuit. For this two-lap race you’ll need a European Road Car — 500PP is a mere suggestion rather than a limit — and there’s 20,000cr for victory.
One of the game’s odder racers also pops up this week, as the World Touring Car 600 visits Barcelona. Not so odd, until you realize it’s at the Rallycross circuit and you’ll need Dirt Tires on your 600PP-or-less vehicle. There’s 45,000cr available for winning the six-lapper.
Finally there’s a handsome 200,000cr prize for winning the World Touring Car 800 race, but it’s a bit of a beast. It’s a three-lap affair at the Nurburgring Endurance layout, and you’ll need any car equipped with any type of Racing Tire, under an 800PP cap.
This week’s bonus rewards are all cash tickets, with a 100,000cr ticket for completing one event, a 150,000cr ticket for completing three, and a 500,000cr ticket for finishing all five.
The Weekly Challenges update at midnight local time on Wednesday evenings/Thursday mornings, with the next set due at that time on December 27/28. You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access.
