2024’s second set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is now becoming available to players around the world, with the change arriving at midnight local time in each time zone.
Weekly Challenges is a feature that was added in the game’s Spec II update, and consists of a five-event playlist of races drawn from the World Circuits section of Gran Turismo 7, with the occasional unique event created just for the week’s challenges — like this week, in fact!
You’ll earn special bonus prizes for completing one, three, and all five races during the week — so you’ll need to race them again and finish third or better should you have already beaten the chosen races for the week.
The one-off Special Event this week heads to Deep Forest. You’ll need your wits about you here, as this race sees the return of the lightly unhinged — but road legal — Radical SR3 SL. It’s a five-lap race in the open-topped Radical, with 75,000cr on offer for taking first place.
For this week’s slow and steady race you’ll be heading to Suzuka Circuit’s East course in the Japanese FF Challenge 450. As the name suggests you’ll need a front-engined, front-wheel drive road car from Japan, but the 450PP is just a suggestion. 7,000cr is your reward for completing the three laps with a victory.
There’s a mild step up into the American Sunday Cup 600 event, requiring road cars from the USA although again only at a suggested 600PP. Winning the three-lap race at Blue Moon Bay’s Infield A layout is worth 16,000cr.
German cars are the focus for the Schwarzwald League race at the Nordschleife, and this time there’s a hard performance point cap of 700PP. The single-lap race will earn you 64,000cr for victory, and it’s a good chance to get your 992 GT3 RS out for another week!
Finally there’s a World Touring Car 900 race at Trial Mountain. Once again, you should be aware that to see this race you’ll need to have at least started the corresponding Bonus Menu Book — Book 48: World Touring Car 900 — which itself requires a Collector Level of 39 to appear in your GT Cafe.
It’s a pretty stiff test too, requiring cars of up to 900PP — again a hard cap — which will see the field include Gr.2 machinery for this ten-lap race. Watch out for high fuel consumption and tire wear multipliers too as you race for the 160,000cr first prize.
The bonus rewards are standard fare after some recent, more lucrative outings, with a 100,000cr ticket for completing one event, a 200,000cr ticket for completing three, and five-star Roulette ticket for the clean sweep. There’s a small chance you’ll collect a million credits from this, but it’s most likely to be another 100k.
The Weekly Challenges update at midnight local time on Wednesday evenings/Thursday mornings, with the next set due at that time on January 17/18. You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access.
