The first set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges following the 1.42 update is starting to appear on consoles as midnight creeps across the globe, and as you may expect there’s some of the new content making a bow.
Weekly Challenges is a recently added feature that gives players bonus rewards for completing a short, five-event playlist during each week, starting every Wednesday evening. These events are usually drawn from the World Circuits section of the game, with the occasional “Special Event” created just for that week.
One of these Special Events is on the schedule this week, with a new race for the Tesla Model 3 at Blue Moon Bay Infield A. The only restriction here is the car itself, and the three-lap race will earn you 35,000cr for victory.
Coming in at the same prize money is the new Jimny Cup event. This is part of Bonus Menu Book 50, so you will have to start the menu book in order to see the event — which also requires Collector Level 28. However it’s a simple, three-lap race of the reverse Lake Louise Short track, needing Snow Tires.
The World Touring Car 600 is up next, with a five-lap race at Tokyo Expressway South’s Counterclockwise course. That 600PP label makes for a hard limit but otherwise you may use any vehicle you wish for the five-lap race, worth 80,000cr for victory.
Vision Gran Turismo cars star in their own event, which again you’ll only see if you have at least started the relevant Bonus Menu Book. This book, 41, requires a Collector Level of 20 so should be no bother. You’ll need any Vision GT car but there’s an 850PP limit here for the five-lap race of Monza, and an 85,000cr first-place prize.
Finally there’s a World Touring Car 700 race at Mount Panorama. This seven-lap race requires any car under the 700PP limit and fitted with any type of race tire. You’ll score 165,000cr for victory, but good luck securing the Clean Race Bonus…
The bonus rewards, requiring third place or better in each race, are a bit of a mix this week. You’ll pick up a Six-Star Roulette (Parts) Ticket for one event, a 200,000cr ticket for three, and a Five-Star Roulette Ticket for clearing all five.
Weekly Challenges update at midnight local time on Wednesday evenings/Thursday mornings, with the next set due at that time on February 7/8. You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access.
