Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Super Vision

The arrival of midnight on Thursday evening around the world heralds a brand-new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, with five new events to tackle over the coming seven days.

You’re going to need to unlock some of this week’s events if you haven’t already, by starting the relevant Bonus Menu Books in GT Cafe, and there’s a return of a popular, one-week only Special Event created just for the Weekly Challenges.

We’re going to start with that last item first, as it also happens to be the highest-paying event this week with 150,000cr available for taking first place. It’s the All-Japan GT Car Championship, which sees the game’s GT500 cars and a handful of modified road cars all decked out to look like a classic JGTC/Super GT grid. However there’s no restrictions at all, so you could in theory make the seven-lap run around Suzuka a bit of a moneyspinner if you don’t mind the overkill.

The two events you’ll need to unlock both come in at 90,000cr for taking the win, with a seven-lap race of Kyoto’s Yamagiwa course in the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy and three laps around Circuit de Sainte-Croix C in the Hypercar Parade. The only requirement for the latter race is a Road Car, while the VGT race requires any Vision GT car (of course) at a Performance Point limit of 850PP.

Slightly less valuable is the American Sunday Cup 600 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. It’s a three-lap blast of the track which hosted the Gran Turismo World Series Nations Cup Montreal grand final last weekend, but you’ll probably be going a mite slower in the required road car from any US brand. The 600PP referenced in the name is a suggestion only, if you want a decent battle for your 40,000cr prize.

Lastly we have a little sprint around Monza in the Sunday Cup Classic. This two-lap race is worth 30,000cr and has no restrictions other than the requirement to use a road car. Interestingly, that means there’s two cars eligible for all five races — although they’ll hardly be a fair fight in most of them…

All of the rewards this week are credit tickets — which you’ll need to redeem from your garage’s Gifts section to add to your in-game bank account. There’s 100,000cr for completing any one event, 200,000cr for finishing off any three, and 500,000cr for the clean-sweep of all five.

You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday July 19.
